Don't you just hate it, because it seems to start at the worst time, like in dead quiet rooms, libraries, on a bus or somewhere, where it knows it should make that noise.

I have been embarrassed by my stomach vying for attention when I am trying my best to ignore it in the most inconvenient places. How can a client take you seriously when you are in an important meeting and your stomach WON'T SHUT UP??

Oh my GOD yes - I never usually eat breakfast and my stomach never growls, but when I don't eat and then go to my morning class, it always growls as loud as possible when all is silent. I get the strangest looks!
Here's what I've been doing lately to help:
I carry a bag of soynuts and/or raisins on me and when it starts growling, I munch for a minute or two. The growling eventually ceases.

yes, thats one of the only reasons i ate breakfast in high school. i carry snax for that specific reason.
