I asked the woman across the street from me to stop throwing her cigarette butts on my lawn. She asked how many I found and I said 4. She said that wasn't a lot.

So I told her that compaired to her giant butt it wasn't much, but it still bothers me.

Now she seems angry with me. Did I step over the line?

No, not at all. How rude is it for someone to throw their cig butts in someone else's yard? Gather them up, take them to her, ask her to eat them. When she grosses out, tell her that's how you feel when you find them in your yard!

I think you were within your rights to complain about the cigarette butts. However I can't even imagine why you felt being insulting would help.

I suggest you gather up the cigarette butts and mail them to her. Maybe she will get the butt of your new found humor.

No...I would save the butss up for a couple of months then throw them all out in her lawn and ask her if that was enough to make her stop.

Take 4 dumps on her lawn. When she complains, just compare the 4 turds to the 4 cigarette butts.

Fair is fair right?

Your lawn, you were somewhat right, just didn't need to go the name calling, you now can expect to find tons more butts on your lawn

No.. I would start throwing something over on her lawn.. something little, but enough to irritate her. Then say, "Oh, but that isn't a lot!" I am vindictive LOL

Certainly not. . .after all, it seems to me she got smart with you first. The point wasn't how many cigarette butts you found; the point was that she shouldn't have thrown ANY in your yard. Your response was funny and, frankly, a little too nice.

No way. These people need to be told straight if they think what they're doing is OK when it so obviously isn't. An insult will make them realsie how much it's upsetting you and then may realise what they're doing is wrong and stop doing it. So good on you. Give yourself a pat on the back.

An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind. And in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king. I've got two of 'em, so that'd make me, what, a double emperor or something? Works for me!
