For months now, I have seen posts on Y/A about how much you love Bush, what a great president he is, and how you back everything he does. Apparently the Republican candidates for president don't feel the same. So where do you stand now?

"My country, right or wrong."

"America, love it or leave it."

Slogans represent a great substitute for actual thought. Thinking is such hard work, it is so much easier to just parrot Rush. "Megadittoes, Rush man! To whatever you say!"

So we just focus on the good our beloved president has done, and ignore the bad. Torture? Why, those were just innocent college type pranks. Don't you remember when you were in college, getting your genitals wired up, getting raped by broom handles, blanket parties, water boarding, and execution? (We executed more than three dozen prisoners at Abu Ghraib, and investigations examined half a dozen of those).

It's ok, because our president has blessed those activities. And besides, they're probably just lies made up by the liberal press to discredit our president, who as we all know, sits on the right throne besides Jesus.

How about the scandal after scandal? One big scandal comes along, and while we're still reeling from it, here comes another to distract us. Even bigger and badder than the first. It is hard to keep focus of all the many missteps and misdeeds of this administration. So hard, in fact, that the Faux News spin machine lost all credibility long ago.

What is the good our president has done? He invaded Afghanistan in response to the terrorist atrocity. In the six years he has been president, that pretty much sums it up. And that "good" act was watered down by our subsequent unprovoked attack of Iraq, such that it now does not truly account for anything. Not only have we lost in Iraq, we're losing in Afghanistan--a country that SHOULD have been a cake walk. Six years from now we will end up withdrawing from both nations humbled in ignomious defeat, based upon the incompetent mismanagement so typical of every situation faced by this administration. Katrina. Geshundeit!

What are just a few of the many evils perpetrated by this administration? Vetoing life saving embryonic stem cell research. Not just ignoring the needs of veterans at Walter Reed hospital, but working against them. Cutting veterans benefits. Extending tours of duty. Waging war not upon poverty but upon the poor. Hiding the activities of our government from prying "liberal" eyes. Secretly abolishing the FISA court. Inking over constitutional rights. Domestic spying. Illegal wiretapping. Violating the Geneva Conventions. Rescinding international treaties. Waging war against our environment.

I went to the whitehouse.gov web page to search for something good the president has done. Surely no one could be completely incompetent, completely at odds with the needs of the nation. I searched in vain. This is actually quite unbelievable! George H. W. Bush did a number of good things for this country. So did Ronald Reagan. Bill Clinton, despised as he was by my conservative brothers, at least had the budget well into the black. He promoted thoughtful welfare reform and free international trade, and numerous other significant policies.

This president has failed to champion a single successful program in anything. Historians concur, before his term has even completed, that this is the worst president the US has ever suffered, in its 200+ year history. I would love to stand by the president, but he has given us nothing to stand on.

Love Bush? Only my wife... Do I STILL support our elected President? Yes, and I HAD to support that vile piece of crap Clinton too. I'll bet you're just pissed because Bush couldn't give a flyin' rip what you think of him. And "Failed?" How has he failed? He's done just about everything he said he would -- successfully. If the others running on the republican ticket are trying to distance themselves, it's only because like those in the DNC, they're just politicians and they'll do whatever they believe necessary to get themselves elected. Perhaps if you'd study history a little more closely and stop listening to what the spin doctors (from both sides) keep putting out. But then, that would require thought and research and we all know it's so much easier to just go with whatever is blowin' in the wind and whatever you're told to feel... So much hatred.

I still like Bush. I voted for him both times and would vote for him a 3rd time if I could. He has been a steadfast leader in the war on terror. Hes upheld the rights for the unborn, opposed the gay agenda, and helped keep America terror-free by going on the offense. He also puts up with a constant media onslaught of people that hate him and accuse him of all kinds of vile things.

He really hasnt been very great at balancing the budget or reigning in govt spending however and places like conservative talk radio have been very vocal about that. But he has done everything he could to ensure the economy keeps rolling along like it has and increased revenues will help keep the budget manageable.

But I really dont see any reason to demonize and hate anybody. Jesus taught us to love God and love our neighbor and people that run around mindlessly hating Bush for no reason do not love God. If they loved God, they would do the things he said to do.

I feel good about being a Republican and a Bush supporter. You surmise that the candidates do not support him. That is your opinion.

The Republican candidates are concentrating on their own platforms and their own campaigns. Bush isn't running for office. Or, hadn't you heard? Where do I stand now? I stand as committed and loyal to my party as you do to yours. Have a pleasant day. And, stay tuned.

He's done many great things since being President.
(news media won't brag about any of that tho as they
are all liberals). So, yes I still am a Bush supporter
out here, but I don't know about the "chronic".

They still stand behind GW Bush because they fear if they move even a step to the left, they will be incinerated and turn to ashes.

So they hide in the shadows Emperor Bush and support him no matter how much wrong and scandals his Presidency and administration have accumulated.
