Carolyn,

Obviously you are NOT happy about this divorce. I am so sorry. If you need cheering up, you've come to the right place. There are so many people that use Yahoo Q & A, that are the most caring and compassionate people. So consider yourself, "cheered up," by ALL of us.

Try to hang in there. What you are going through is hard. (been there, done that, after a 33 yr. marriage) Give yourself time to grieve. Divorce is exactly like experiencing a death. It's sad for some, exhilarating for others... always depends on the reason for the divorce, in the first place.

Keep us posted on how things are going for you. Smile...please?

I'm so sorry to hear that, hon. But one thing is for sure. Your life has to go on. And it can. And it will. And you have the power to discover those new options and those new opportunities that are going to excite you.

In just a little while (or longer), you will be a fully healed, balanced person with a new life. After a minute, the new life you've created will be so different and so "you", that he would not have fit into your NEW life, anyway.

One minute at a time, one day at a time. You'll be alright, girl.

I'm sorry to hear that. You know what...you will find someone else and life will get better. There is obviously a reason why your getting divorced just know that you made the right decision and you need to move on with your life. have a big cry and then pull yourself together and go to the spa for some R&R.

I cannot imagine what you are going through, but I will surely pray for you at this very moment and leave you with this passage from the Bible:

Philippians 4:7 - And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Although at this tough time in your life it is very difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel, just know that God is with you, and is waiting for you to let Him into your life.

Tomorrow is a new day, seize it. Think of it as a new begining. Look at this way I,ve never had it (marriage) but there will be a new sunrise tomorrow and with it new hope. Life is too short to stay bummed.

I know how you feel.. My husband and I got divorced in 2004, but then we got re-married like 6 months later! I don't know if that's what you may be hoping for, but I know what you're feeling. It gets easier, but I know especially the first few days and weeks are very tough. Pick yourself up and just know that your life can change in an instant. Something good is ahead!!

I know this is a difficult time but look at it this way, you are getting a whole new chance at life. You can take your life in a completely different direction than you could have if you were still married. God has a plan for you and I'm sure there is something better and wonderful in it for you. This could be the best thing that ever happened to you.

If it's on your mind big time get a bunch of your girlfriends together and have a couple of nights away if you can. Other wise have a sleep over at your place, hire movies get some wine put some music on and enjoy. Just remember your never to old for a sleep over.

Hang in there! Think about the future and all the great things that will take place in your life. Have a girls day, get your hair done, a manicure/pedicure and massage and then just get plastered at the end of the day!
