...to simply refuse to convert?

Are you willing to risk your life for what you believe in?

I am.

I don't believe in the war in Iraq. I believe in living the way Americans were intended to live. So I do it. If I get killed in the process of doing that, well, then it was just my time. But at least I didn't compromise what the founders of this country wanted in the process.

Even more to the point, think about this: If the terrorists are after us because they hate freedom, as Bush and neocons claim, then wouldn't the best way to fight them be...
... to simply keep living free, with the full liberties of speech, assembly, due process maintained in full force, unabated by the the Patriot Act or the Military Commissions Act?

Terrorist goals are to recruit yes, but perhaps you seem to forget? Their primary mission in life is to cause as much devastation as they can and make a statement about how much they hate everyone. They dont want to convert us, although they will try if they kidnap us. They want to kill us.

Of coarse you dont believe in the war in Iraq, you are an anti-war Bush hating lib! Living as Americans were intended to live? Not standing up to tyranny and Americas enemies? Are you serious? Fighting tyranny is as American as apple pie and it is do-nothings like you that rail against our military and president that makes this country weaker.

Anybody who has the power to act against terrorism and doesnt is worse than gutless, they are unamerican and evil. I dont know if you realize but the oath of public office includes swearing to defend America against our enemies. You cant defeat terrorism by ignoring it or appeasing it. Otherwise we end up with more national tragedies like the marine barracks bombing and Sept 11th.

The terrorist want to kill everyone who does not believe in thier wacky version of islam.

they don´t want to convert anyone, they want to kill everyone. this is pretty evident in iraq, where do the terrorist always attack, markets, schools, normal people out shopping.

and i think you get more islam points for killing westerners...

the best way to fight them is to bring the fight, to them! not vise versa

What an ignorant statement. We ARE refusing to convert. So your saying the 3000+ people who were living as American's that died on 9/11 perished because it as you so eloquently put it..."was their time". I'm not leaving the time of my demise in the hands of a friggen loonatic!

So you think our government should just bring our troops home, and put them behind desks.

Then let the terrorists line us up and shoot or behead all who won't take Islam?

Nice.
