It needs a new thermo coupling. When the thermo coupling goes bad it turns the gas off.

It could be a breeze, but is most likely a pin hole in the thermocouple...the slim copper tube that the flame hits when lit. This tube must stay hot for gas to continue to flow. Eventually, the heat from the pilot wears a pin hole in it, allowing the hot gas to escape which shuts off the flow of gas to the pilot.

First guess would be the thermocouple. If not that, check to see if there are spider webs or cobwebs blocking the gas inlet for the pilot.
