I didn't laugh at him.
I feel sorry for him.
His own party (Bush) trashed him so badly in the last election. Said he was mentally ill.
Maybe Bush was right. He's like a puppy that goes back for another beating at the hands of an abuser.

Your "quote" of Senator McCain is inaccurate. Further, your uninformed 'question' is not designed to stimulate conversation nor to debate the position of our Senator from Arizona. Your comment is merely an immature attempt to smear and to discredit a person with whom you disagree.
The following is a transcript of the debate, it will show that your 'question' is radically out of context:
MR. MATTHEWS: Senator McCain, most of the public pessimism today has to do with Iraq. How -- what would you need, as commander in chief, to win the war in Iraq?
SEN. MCCAIN: I would need the support of the American people. I would need to be able to show them some success in Iraq, both on the battlefield as well as with the Maliki government.
We have a new general, we have a new strategy. That strategy can succeed. The young men and women who are serving are the best of America. I believe that if we could bring around -- about stability in the neighborhoods in Iraq and have the Maliki government govern, you are going to succeed.
My friends, when the majority leader of the United States Senate says we've lost the war, the men and women that are serving in Iraq reject that notion. And if we lost, then who won? Did al Qaeda win? When on the floor of House of Representatives -- they cheer. They cheer when they passed a withdrawal motion -- that is, a certain date for surrender, what were they cheering? Surrender? Defeat?
We must win in Iraq. If we withdraw, there will be chaos, there will be genocide, and they will follow us home.
MR. MATTHEWS: Do you need anything beyond what the president has now to win the war?
SEN. MCCAIN: Now I think it's on the right track. The war was terribly mismanaged. The war was terribly mismanaged, and we now have to fix a lot of the mistakes that were made. Books have been written. But we have a new strategy and a new general, and these young men and women are committed to winning.
From tone of your 'question' it is more than obvious that you are not a Republican. My guess is that you're a card-carrying member of the democrat party - yea, even a radical left-winger. Your question has little (if anything) to do with politics and everything to do with personal attacks. To refer to any person as a clown removes you from serious debate. Your childish comment may be brushed off as watercooler diatribe from the ilk of uninformed, vindictive persons with an agenda of smearing all that is Republican and/or conservative.
In the future, please refrain from political discussion in any public forum. Confine your political discussion to your circle of Kool Aid drinking radicals.

Saturday night stay is very strict approximately adhering to script. McCain might have had little administration over what would desire to happen (all of us be conscious of how another applicants steer away from any project the place they don't have finished administration as much as achieveable).there is particularly not often room for advert libbing. besides, one ought to understand that SNL has been, traditionally conversing, not often a communicate board supportive of or sympathetic to GOP individuals! (understand that Al Franken replaced into one among its significant writers and figures there). additionally, McCain comes from an older technology which did no longer blur the traces plenty between politics and public leisure (I remember questioning that Clinton enjoying the saxophone for audiences replaced right into slightly staggering). He will certainly be having to stability the present call for for politicians interior the final leisure section vs. convictions regarding what's dignified habit for a US Senator. That being stated, he has a state-of-the-artwork humorousness (and irony) that enables him to circulate into and undergo a lion's den which includes this one! i might certainly be very uneasy if McCain exhibited the point-hog tendencies and awe of Hollywood figures I certainly have regrettably witnessed in different figures (bill Clinton & Gore); basically no longer my style.

I don't think name calling is the way to go here. John McCain did struggle early last night but I was impressed with his passion when talking about the pressing need to reduce spending. If we don't reduce spending then an economic disaster is unavoidable for future generations.
I know some of you don't understand the concept of standing on principal but John McCain believes what we are doing in Iraq is what is best for this country. Of course the Democrats see the polls going against the war so now, in true Demy fashion, they are running in the direction of the polls.

I would have killed for him to have the balls to call it for what it was.. if McCain get's nominated it's a sure win for the Dems even with Nazi Hillary and all show no go Obama..

I don't think they have much of a choice. The war is the only thing they have to run on. That is the only area where they are stronger than the Democrats that are running.

OK, how about this - we put Jerry Falwell in charge of the war and rely on divine intervention to make us victorious?

McCain's performance was riddled with cliches and rhetoric. He didn't utter a meaningful word.
