What is the tolerable level of violence that is deemed acceptable before the United States can leave Iraq?

I would hope we would think that the only acceptable level would be the level it was before we got there. Despite the persecution of certain people in Iraq by Saddam, Iraq was a country with little over-all violence and a pretty stable infrastructure. We've pretty much made a mess there, now we're blaming the Iraqis for a civil war we started.

I feel that the violence is going to stay the same or get worse, no matter what we do. The country really needs to be divided and share the oil revenues with each of them. Great question!
