Okay here's the deal. Been on the pill for years. Last month I missed the first two pills of my pack. I followed the instructions to make them up, but DID have sex during that following week. I finished up my pack and got a very light and short period. I haven't been experiencing nausea, but I've been overly tired and moody, and been urinating more often. All of those things could of course have logical explanations. But it's time to start the new pack of pills now, and I'm wondering if i should take a test to be sure before I do?

They aren't that expensive, if you are questioning it, I would give it a try just to be sure.

Well firstly stop taking the birth control pill and here is the reason why - Pills has hormonal combination which alter the physiology of female menstrual cycle. Also these are potent to cause abortion in the pregnant ladies. Because these hormones do not allow the fertilized egg to implant into the uterus which lead to the abortion in the early time. But when the embryo is implanted and started to grow these pills cause many other abnormalities in the developing fetus.

Then I suggest you take a pregnancy test, do it first thing in the morning ( first urine of the day ). If it comes out negative wait a couple of days and test again or get a blood test done at a clinic or doctor.

I say you wait until your period and see if you miss it. It can't be that long off as you said you are just about to start a new pack, so hold off on the pack (As well as sex) until you know you missed your period, then take the test.

I would make sure you weren't pregnant before you started another pack. Go to the doctor for a blood test if the pee test comes back negative. Better to be safe than sorry.

Definitely take a test. A blood test preferably. Even if you are not pregnant, it's better to be safe than sorry. You need to know before you take any more pills.

Wont hurt to take the test. Some pills that are taken over long periods of time, usually loose their effect.

yes,

you dont want to take the pill if you are pregnant. It may affect the foetus. Do take folic acid instead, this will help your unborn baby to from properly. Be prepared that you may be pregnant and the consequences!

good luck

You sound very concerned, if I were in your shoes I would take the test to ease the mind.
