Sons of Liberty was a secret organization that existed during the period prior to the American revolution. Their Job was to keep the colonies informed of what was happening, and to disrupt the routine of the British. They were responsible, for example, for the Boston Tea Party.

Taxation without representation was one of the battle cries and complaints of the Colonists prior to the American Revolution. The Colonies were being taxed by the British Parliament, but they had no representation in the Parliament and therefore had no say in whether or not the colonies should be taxed on certain products such as tea. This was one of the grievances the Colonies had against King George III.
