i just paid $145 and the computer tech did not fix this.

Most probably its shut down because of Temperature ! , you have to check your CPU temperatures. You can find information about how to check your cpu temperature ;

if your pc running high temperature , you need to buy extra FAN for your pc . Also check your old fans , can be broken

You're screwed glued and tattood.

Sell that PC on Ebay while it's worth something to someone that might be able to fix it.

Get a new one that you don't have to keep spending 145 bucks for every time you have a problem.

Been there.. done that...

You'll be spending most of your time reinstalling / installing windows.

Replacing the fans, ram, power supply, drives, cards, motherboard.

By the time you replace everything it will still be the same old PC that screws up and never runs right.

There are a few reasons why it will shut down without warning.

When does it shut down?
Are you doing something specific?.
Is the processor getting too hot?
One of the most difficult causes to spot is a 'sticky' memory bit. If your system has two memory sticks in it try removing one and see if the problem stays or goes away. Then swap them over see if that makes a difference. If either of these cures the problem then replace the duff memory.

It might a virus or lack of resource file.The file system file required to run may be missing or corrupted...Reinstall ur OS may fix it.If it is virus ,better to run a full systemscan before booting using some virus programs.

maybe the motherboard is messed up. Does it ever flash out of nowhere when your using it?
