They have nothing in common with that old man except dementia and loyalty to big business.

No kidding, Reagan wasn't even a good president.

Look there is no reason for you to say nasty things like that about Ron Reagan. You are right though, a lot of this debate was centered around Reagan because they feel like he was the last bastian of what was good about the GOP. They forget that many minority groups including gays and the disabled werent such big fans of Reagan and that they do make up a large portion of the voting public in this election. Reagan wont save them. My plan would've but they just dont listen. BTW did you notice how that damn Arnold Schwartzeneggar was playing up to Nancy Reagan the entire time. He better not be thinking that he's going to be president. Im sure you well know that the zero year curse is all but broken but it may come back on him in a big way if he doesn't let that ambition go. Im sure we disagree on many things but you gotta agree with me on this much.

I don't recall more than a couple of comments about Reagan. But yes, Reagan was the last great Republican president, and I would expect everyone to try to catch his coattails. Interestingly, the ones who truly hold Reagan's values didn't feel the need to call his name. It was interesting to hear the Romney's and Giuliani's invoking Reagan when they're the furthest from his values.

Why do Republican insist on living in the past? Why were these ten candidates afraid to mention George W. Bush after he is president, is a Republican, they all support the war the polices of Bush. How do you think George feels seeing the gang of ten not honor and praise him? Wonder how Fox News and Rush are going to deal with this?

They were instructed, do to time restraints, that they would not be addressing thank yous to Mrs.Reagan. They held the debates at the President Reagan library. They slipped his name and praise in where ever possible as a show of gratitude for Mrs. Reagan.

Ronald Reagan has been beatified by the Republican Party. Everyone wants to identify with him. Interestingly, Ron Reagan Jr. was incensed after his father's funeral in 2003 when the WH kept comparing W. to President Reagan.

Your cruelty in referencing dementia speaks volumes. President Reagan is one of America's most beloved presidents. He was loved by many, including Democrats. The venom that you choose to spew while trying to make some kind of profound point (you have failed miserably BTW) is so indicative of the mentality that has no place in a civilized debate.

No one buys and sells the Democrats though, just ask Obama he won't allow lobbyists or big business to run the country! Ok, then he won't be president either! As for the rest of the pathetic Democrats, they will be glad to become president and work for George Sorros!

Because Reagan won by such large landslides in his elections they want to aquate themselves with him to make it seem they have the same values and are of the same breed. So we want to vote in another neocon? Basically using him to say they aren't anything like Bush. Nevermind that Reagan was ran by a democratic congress and if he had a republican congress Bush probably would look not so bad after the ideas Reagan actually held. Just politics plain and simple, associate yourself with what the hope americans feel was the last "good" Republican.

Reagan was the last popular GOP president. At the time he left office, he had a 62% approval rating. This was the highest ever for a president at the end of his term.......until it was eclipsed by.......Bill Clinton. He left office with a 63% approval rating.

Reagan was their last great hope.

He represents a lot of things to those people (a lot of which he never actually was - but that doesn't stop them from erecting an image of him in their mind of a 'great leader').

They have nothing left.

Six years of Dubya has shown what happens when you give the reins of control to a bitter bunch of has-beens from his daddy's administration.

He was their great hope - and he turned out to be a f**king moron.

Trust me though - someday you will hear GOP'ers praising the incompetent fool the same way they praise ronald 'alzheimer-boy' reagan now.
