i want xbox live

i mean if i got a cingular wireless laptop card would live work if i hooked up a ethernet cord to the laptop to my xbox would the cingular card be fast enough

You are talking about plugging in a wireless 3G card into your notebook and then connecting your xbox to the laptop using ethernet, then yes this will work, and as long as you get a good strong signal to your laptop it should provide more then enough bandwidth to play on xbox live.

You will have to enable ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) on the laptop and you will also have to setup your IP settings on the laptop and xbox ethernet connections manually.

If you have never done this before it might seem like alot, but just ask here and im sure plenty of people will help.....

If you mean Cable Modems yes, if you means Dial up... Why ?
Yes, you can connect, but some of the protocols may not work exactly the same, and the difference is between turning on a tap ( Cable) and a Pin Prick ( Dial up Modem).

Dont think so home boy! A card would be a dialup device and it wont be fast enuff! You need at least DSL and better yet a cable internet connection.
