There is an infinite number of equivalent fractions. These can be found by multiplying or dividing BOTH the numerator and denominator by the SAME number (except zero).

Thus: 5/10 = 5*8/10*8 = 40/80; and 5*(-4)/10*(-4)= -20/-40.

The simplest form =5/5 /10/5 =1/2
