where in the back is the pain coming from?
Your spinal column is for supporting you to stand up for yourself. If you are carrying thoughts of resentment, guilt or a lack of control you will get back pain because of the conflict with your true feelings.
*Shoulder pain is because your carrying burden.
*Upper back - not enough emotional support
*middle back - dealing with guilt, anxiety or fear to face something hidden
*lower back - financial concerns
Hope this helps

Hi "mottiman10", first, you need know that is nor Right posture your body, minimize the sufferings of back pain. Right posture helps back muscle to get stronger and neck to be held up better. If you hold yourself wrong then these muscles must work harder to keep every thing in the right place. And this causes strain in the muscles, which causes back pain.
Perhaps the most important way all back pain sufferers can help their self is by doing gentle stretching and exercise. If your job requires sitting for most part of the day, or you drive long distances either going to work or as part of your job than you should pay particular attention to how you sit. Your sitting posture should be straight. Many people use a pillow or a towel to help them sit straight or for extra support. Every hour take a 30 second stretch break. This will make sure that any tension in muscles is straightened. You may already be using specially designed chairs at work but you should still take stretch break.
Back pain is either acute, appearing quickly and intensely after an accident or injury and lasting only a short while, or chronic, recurrent pain that can come seemingly out of nowhere. The direct causes of chronic back pain are rarely obvious – simple movements, arthritis, bad posture, obesity, and internal disorders can all cause our backs to ache.
It is important to try to pinpoint the cause so you can get the most appropriate type of treatment for your low back pain. Doctors often recommend medications for lower back pain relief. Both over-the-counter and prescription medicines can ease lower back pain, and Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs), which include aspirin and ibuprofen, can significantly reduce inflammation as well as back pain.

See this is a tricky question as there may be different reasons for the back pain ! For expected good answer you should have given some more detail like your age?it lasts how much?where exactly it is ?is that migrates?is it becoming verse on bending ?is it related to your food intake or menses ? how you get little relief?is any time it happens at night?is it sleep taking? If nothing than some constant sitting or some physical trauma involving soft tissue giving rise sprain & strain than (1)do some tolarable exercises !(2)have a massage done with some lukewarm oil !(3) Sleep in a hard bad !(4)do hot fomentation if you have time (4)!If does not subside and you want speedy recovery than take some non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs like Phenacetin that is paracetamol or Ibuprofen like !Always YouRsmE

Pain is a result of inflammation. What is causing the inflammation? Subluxation of the spine - that is a misalignment of the spine, which can be diagnosed and treated by a chiropractor.
Again, what is causing the inflammation? Could it be heavy metals and environmental toxins stored in the cells? Detoxify the body - safely, quickly and inexpensively with NCD liquid zeolites.
Again, what is causing the inflammation? Could it be that the body is deficient in certain nutrients? If so, provide the body with a good quality liquid vitamin, mineral and phytochemical - and Advanved A Glyconutrients, which nourish at a cellular level, implicating inflammation.
Usually, when the body is in need of attention, there is not one magic bullet (or pill) - rather the body as a whole must be addressed - with nutrition. The body does not need any one vitamin, rather a wide spectrum.
Best of luck to you!

Rest. Find a comfortable position, it might look really strange and make you feel like an idiot but it helps. Use moist heat. Depending on the reason for the pain is the main question you should be asking. My husband has back pain and his Dr. wouldn't let even a trained physical therapist near his back and told him under no circumstances should he let a chiropractor touch him that it could paralyze him. And he thought it was just a pulled muscle. He has a seriously herniated disk that has the Dr.s surprised he can still walk. Be carefull. Your back is your whole means of movement. Take care of it

Go and see an osteopath and/or a chiropractor. They are specialists in treating back pain. Other than that it's usually recommended to undertake regular strengthening excercise (e.g. pilates is VERY good), watch your posture and make sure you have good shoes.
Interestingly people who's blood sugar drops during mid-morning or mid-afternoon complain more often of back pain. Keeping your energy levels up with good nutrition and healthy snacks might also be a way to go.
Good luck ~ Alandriel

It sounds silly, but in my experience physical activity proved vital...I found biking, hill walking and even climbing very helpful...However you mustn't exaggerate at these activities...
Back pains are often a consequence of inactive way of life; sitting job, not enough exercising, excessive body weight...
There's something you should pay attention to; you should control your moving while bending forward or picking up objects from the ground; You shouldn't make careless moves when bending over, it'll almost certainly affect your back !

Try an "Inversion Table", you hang suspended from your ankles for a couple of minutes and it naturally stretches out the spine. Kind of like an adjustment without the chiropractor but is healthy and safe to use. Look them up online and get info..
