I just turned 14 and I found a few websites that tell me how to measure myself for a bra, but the problem I have is how should I ask my dad to take me shopping for one. It's a little embaracing, but I know I need one. HELP!

ok, the most common part to all the answers that makes the most sense is just to ask my dad. The problem is it's a little embaracing as I figured out I need a 30B, and like the rest of me they are still gowing. should I buy one that "fits" or one I can grow into?

Is there a female in the family that could take you, or a female friend. If not take yourself. You can do it. They will measure you at the store of your choice. Is it $$$ you need from daddy to buy one?
If you are close with dad, just ask him.
Why the hang-ups? It is all natural. Duh

Well, since you already have an idea about what size you wear, you should ask your dad for some money so that you can go to the store and buy a bra. If you feel uncomfortable saying the 'bra' word in front of him, just say 'undergarments'. He will prbably get the hint, and be cool with that.

Do you have a adult female you know, like an aunt?

I would see if she (or another adult female) would want to go out with you to find you a bra.

Check out Nordstroms or JCPenney (not victoria secret) and get sized by a professional.

Some of those online measurement sites have NO IDEA. (I am a 38C and they said I was anywhere between a 32A and a 40DDD, seriously!).

Edit: Get one that fits. Make sure it is not TOO tight, but is still supportive. If you need to ask one of the female employees for assistance. I'm sure if they see you there with your dad they'll understand why you are asking them.

Don't trust those websites, you're better off getting fitted properly in one of the stores... I'm assuming you're not with your mum for some reason, & if you're close with your dad, then sure why not? He must know that you're getting to that age anyway. If not, as everyone else has said, talk to someone like an aunty, older sister, best friend & go together! It's embarassing I know, but it's all part of growing up! :)

chantel = the person you are asking to take you to the shops is your father , , not some stranger , i have three daughters , and haveing no mother their , your father becomes a mother and a father , My surjesten to you , is not to be affried to go and ask you father , about going shoping with you just go up to your day and ask him , he i am sure will be proud to take you to a shop and help look for a bra for you , ANDchantel , just be proud that your dad is taking an intrust in you , so be proud of him , i know mine were , , they are all adults now , but never forget one thing , if he is like me he will always love you , so go on go and communicate with your day , and he will go if you ask him to good luck

Well..ask a grown woman or a friend that you trust dearly to go with you. Then tell your dad you are going to buy some clothes. (i am guessing you dont live with your mom). At your age he should expect it sometime. And when he sees that you have changedd (he will notice) and he shouldnt question you about it.
Hope this helps

ask your dad to take you to the mall. Any department store or lingerie store is equipped to measure you and help you - just ask the sales lady for help (if your mom isn't around to help you). That's what they're there for - they'll get you all set up.
