Let me ask you something. Seriously.
If every single person on the face of the earth did precisely and exactly what they wanted to do, with no regard to civility or law or common courtesy or the end result of their actions, what do you really think would happen?
I think individuality is great. I also think we live in a society, and what is best for the WHOLE is how we're going to have to live.

Scary but true, huh? If we stopped thinking of the individual and managed to all think about what was best for society, then it is possible that this singular society could end up doing something that was really very wrong, and there would be no one to stand up and say, "Wait a minute, that's wrong!!!!"
