I know a paedophile (I worked at a horse riding school between the ages of 9 and 16, he was the owner of the place). He had access to plenty children in a place like that - it sickens me to think what might have been going through his mind all those years.

Nothing ever happened to me, but he did rape a 13 year old girl, and went to jail for 6 years (well i say 6 but he'll be out soon and he's only been in for 3).

You have no idea how many thoughts have gone through my mind about what I would like to do to the man. It's sick, really sick.

That's still an on going debate among the medical community. But, in my own opinion it's a combination of the pedophiles own childhood abuse and thier inability to have healthy relationships with thier peers. they don't mature normally during vital areas of thier up bringing and as a result they become adults only in the chronilogical way but remain immature in every other aspects in thier lives. they then prey on the only human they feel they can " relate" to and unfortunately our children suffer at thier hands. I was an unfortunate victim of these monsters but thankfully I am no longer a victim but a survivor!!

I believe it is an addiction that cannot be cured. Like all sex offenders their affliction cannot be cured with traditional medicine. While chemical castration is good it depends on the continuing cooperation of the person to take the chemical. A more permanent answer is to castrate and give a lobotomy to them the first time they commit the crime. No choice it is given. They become docile, sex free people who do their job and don't bother any body plus since they do not re offend they could have the procedures done and go on. No need for prison or any more victims or tax money supporting them.

I think they should all be castrated and if they abuse children put down... sorry if that offends anyone but people who are capable of hurting children like that are not the type of humans that should be allowed to live in this world or be out on the street. It is one thing to suffer from the illness of fancying children but to act on it is evil and unforgiveable...there is never an excuse!

My understanding is that some of the medical profession say that it should be TREATED as an illness...not that it IS an illness.

Whats amazing to me is I see some people answering here talking about hurting or destroying these people..some of them have remarked to their Christian beliefs in other threads..whats Christ teach about hurting or judging others...

Its also interesting that all of this is just social programming...in old world Rome it was an honor for your child to be chosen as a lover to a rich or high ranking official..in china they used to raise all the females from a young age in how to please their man..Thomas Jefferson had a 14 year old lover...and there were rumors of young lovers in George Washington's life..it was normal in America up until the 1900s for women to get married and have children and run the farm all by age of 14-15...So what makes today's view of sexuality and family structure any better then the last 6 thousand years of human existence..

I don't know ancient Greece Multiple lovers ,young lovers, considered one of the few Utopian societies in human history..or the world now a place so messed up so bent on control and punishment..The modern day creed should be HURT and DESTROY what you have been told to hate, believe in the media, Do what your government tells you to and judge those that don't.. I find this social structure very judgmental EAGER to hurt others and STUPID of its own history..

I do not condone nor judge others for there actions but it is SCARY how this society seems to want to FEAR, ATTACK, or KILL what is programmed into their minds to be the IMMORAL or SOCIALLY Unexceptable for that decade or period of time..

I say that they will pay for their crimes, one way or another, and God knows which ones are more to blame than others. Whether it's an illness or a choice, they still ought to be locked up for life.

I have known two pedophiles in my life (when I was a child), and neither of them was ever brought to justice.

But they will be. No-one can do a crime like that and it not impact on their immortal soul.

I have absolutely no sympathy for these "people". I have a hard time even calling them human. Personally I want them all dead. They go around and destroy lives and shatter childhoods and all they get is a slap on the wrist! People who commit fraud get more time than these freaks! Thankfully not everyone who was abused in this manner becomes an abuser themselves. But it does happen. Unfortunately.

They have an evil darkness in their soul. I fear them because I have children and the idea of anyone hurting my babies sends chills of horror through me. Maybe it is a mental illness for the pedophile, but I have seen the effects on victims and it is a truly heinous crime.

I say its a very unfortunate problem but the pedophiles will not go away because they were molested by pedophiles. Many of the kids who got molested turn into pedophiles themselves thus repeating the cycle. Its so easy to hate them and the reason why is because they're basically taking life away from children- plain and simple.
