countries like the usa (government) are afraid countries in the middle east will be too powerful with the sale of their oil around the world and in addition, if the middle east joined together to refuse to sell oil to the usa for various reasons. As a result, the usa government is trying to control the middle east. Until the oil is used up the usa will keep the middle east fighting each other to prevent them from joining together against the rest of the world. I see no solution possible

We have to look to ourselves first: are we willing to give up our Detroit baxcars to save fuel, I think not. We drive these behemouths at eight and ten miles to the gallon of gas and then complain when cigarettes go up in price. We drink bottled water at twelve dollars a gallon and complain about gas at three, when all the taps work fine. We choose snack foods to eat and gain weight, over weight, and have health problems and then complain at the high cost of hospitals and medicine.

We, as Americans are an intolerant people. We're spoiled, rely on others to worry and wonder and then go into other Countries and tell them how to live, what to do with their lives and then kill them when they won't listen. We went into Iraq to stop a mad leader but, Africa has killed ten, maybe a hundred times more people,more children the he did and were watching, why?

Granted, were not a police for the world but our policies and our priorities are in the wrong places. We could be in the middle East for decades to come. What is it, a training ground for our Armies? Every Country in the world has been there at one time or the other and you know what, we won't be the last and, they'll never win.

The President just said we're staying until we "win" hasn't or doesn't he know history, they don't even want us there. How many scientists, doctors, educators , maybe a scientist that could find a cure for cancer, who knows, all have perished for what?

The solution to the problems of middle east is simply these three words;

1. Respect
2. Respect, and
3. Respect.

People in the middle east don't respect each other that's why they don't live harmoniously. I live in an island which has diverse culture and beliefs. I'm a Catholic my neighbors in the south are Muslims, in the North are Protestants and in the west are cults. We live harmoniously because we respect each other, respect one another, and respect our neighbor. If conflict arises, we don't resort to violence, nor aggressiveness. Instead, we talk and sort out our differences. Problems in our society are always remedied by solutions not aggressions and violence. In the middle east, differences means war, violence, death and unending suffering. If each one of them still don't respect each other, then violence will never stop.

Let those in the region solve their own issues. First, they need to recognize Israel's right to exist. Second, Israel needs to provide recognition and land and water rights to a new Palestine, which may include east Jerusalem as its capital. Third, all foreign armies should leave Iraq. If Iraq's government is planning a 2-month vacation recess while our troops our "fighting their war", we should pullout NOW. They need to solve their own problems. Fourth, sectarian violence is a regional and religious issue that will not be solved probably in our lifetime. The US/UK should stay out of religious civil wars. Fifth, find alternative means of fuel other than oil. Sixth, provide elementary education to 100 million children in the area to provide educational and vocational programs to prepare them for future jobs as a substitute for what they do not now have. Give them hope other than war.

The US should stop trying to "fix it". If these people wanted peace, they would have peace. Here in America we like to wave the flag and say "liberty and justice for all". When did that happen here, why should anyone else believe we can deliver it to them? We should get our own act together before we try to impose it on someone else.
