i have had very special pets
"aussie" my precious lil australian terrier. he helped through surgery when i was young. we would pull ourselves "commando crawl" along on our bellies together. he ate doritos with me. My dad always said "he had the heart of a lion" , i tear up thinking of him now.
but now that i have children, there is no comparison. when i got sick of playin with aussie he went back outside with "gypsy" and "rebel".
i would lay my life down for my kids, i wouldn't for my pets.
i also "get" that some people can't have children (that would be devestating) but please don't compare your ANIMAL to my children!

ok people you aren't gettin my fumbly way of sayin this so i'll try again...
a human child at its worst is worth more than any animal
that is just that.
in my opinion, (and those are like...well u know) if anyone disagrees with that there is a priority askew somewhere...

people find it easier to have pets rather than to have children because they think the process of having pets at homes is far more convenient & easier than to produce your own babies & go through the hell of labour & everything.it is only a mind set of people who avoid going through the out of the world experience of having your own babies.

Well! doesn't that comment get a reaction from me! My heart rate immediately increased. Each to their own im sure, but no life is Greater than another. tHATS THE TROUBLE WITH US HUMANS! We think its all about us! I have a cat and four ferrets. I love them all equally and would'nt trade them for the world. I lost two in the last year and was heartbroken. Personally i judge human beings on their tolerance of animals. Im mad about them. (SOMEONE HAS TO BE)Steve irwin dying was like losing my dad. I talk about my ferrets like you would your children. Its boring for some, just like you talking about your kids is boring for me.
Id rather hang out with my animals...I have no illusions about the human race. The majority of them are dishonest, greedy and untrustworthy. As far as im concerned you are just contributing to this MESS. I choose not to have children. My mum left when I was three. I think Im being responsible. Please dont post questions like this..its not fair to the animals.

Not in the slightest. I can have 20 dogs and do less ecological damage to the world, than one of your kids. If I had 100 dogs, not a one of them would cost the taxpayer a cent. Pets give unconditional love. Kids suck you dry, and curse you behind your back. Then they sit around to wait on you to die to they can take your money.
One in five Women, in America, choose pets over kids. The numbers for us men, are not known, but it must be something like 1 in 8, or so.
Our dog is our son. That is the way it is.
Lots of people regret having kids. Few regret having pets.
As for insults. At least us Childfree people don’t attack you unprovoked. Many Breeders, gossip about us. I have had people, in my workplace, walk up and tell me that I will, “Burn in Hell” if I don’t’ have kids. I am usually silent, when they attack me.
Next October, when you take your kids out for Tricks-Or-Treats, I will be the one giving out the most and the best candy. No, not because I like your kids or I’m a pervert. I am doing so because my dog loves to greet your kids when they come all dressed up. He licks their faces, and they get to pet him. Maybe one day they vandalize someone else’s house, because my dog and I have been so nice to them.
Please cut those of us whom don't want kids a break. After all, we pay a bigger part of the tax burden, for you.
BTW: I am the one whom drives safely so I won't run over one of your kids, when you are not watching him or her. You should hope to have more Childfree neighbors, like me.

I pity people that have such a small secluded life to chose pets to children. I've seen one woman that comes to Wal-Mart, as she's pulling in I can't look at her. She has this little dog that actually licks her face and Lips, she kisses it back the same way.
There was a lady that walked her dog past our house, when it did it's job, she whipped out a toilet paper and wiped it's butt.
To each their own but, some people are different, really. I love animals. My daughters are farmers and we have ten Arabs but, there's a limit to affection you give them.

Not really, my children act like cats and dogs all the time and my cat wants to be human.

if other people's pets mean the world to them and care for them like they were their own kids, why should it bother you? it's them who share a special bond with their pets and they're not asking you for money to buy them food anyway. live and let live. to each his own happiness.

No, it doesn't insult me. If they want to compare their pets to children, that's their choice.
What you feel about it, is your choice too. No big deal........
