I have not had an "offical" Job since the year of 2001, Since then I quit my Job and now work full time as a music producer.
This is what I have been doing with my life for the past many years and "Yes I make money off it".

Regarding a Job Application how can I state that I have been busy? Not just sitting around on my *** like it would look like if I just state my past job from 2001 laughs !

Is there a way I can write this down ? Or are they only looking for past Employers. As I am self employed.

Thanks

Your resume can show yourself as self employed over those years and you can list the skills you applied to have sufficient income over those years. You had to do this and that in regard to your home based business so tell of it. ~~

Unless the application specifically asks why you left your previous job don't write anything. If it does ask, you can say something like 'it didn't provide enough opprutinity for growth'. That lets the new employer know that you are motivated and want to stick with this company for the long run. Mind you, if the position you are applying for has absolutely no room for growth this would be a bad thing to say as it might suggest that you will get bored with this job and leave also.

I am not very sure about the activities you do in music production but you could probably highlight yourself as consultant providing solution on music production. Phrase all the specific activities you do along with client names, incase confidentiality is not associated with it.
Map your roles with market opportunity and rephrase ur profile.

I used the term "Independed Contractor" and then outlined the duties I performed. Owning your own business and being independently contracted are not quite the same things.

Good luck...

does your production company have a name?

or you can just write your occupation and write self employed on it.

in the interview they may ask you questions, so be prepared to explain the gigs and stuff you've helped orchestrated.
