No, not necessarily.
Someone who has a different opinion to everyone else isn't necessary 'wrong or 'out of line'.
I do agree that the majority of 'thumbs down' answers are obnoxious in some way and people have the right to express their dislike.
However automatic violation without analysis of 'answer' content is unwarranted and unjust.
Diversity and freedom of speech, within reason, should be tolerated.

No NOT necessarily. I mean just because you get a thumbs down does NOT make it a violation. It just means there is a person or there are people who don't like your answer. It can just be a stupid answer or an answer that isn't anywhere near the topic or question. BUT it does not mean there is a violation. So I have to say no.

Nah, silly answers are not always nasty answers, just trying to bring a smile to some does not it seems relate to those that want a serious answer. So loads of thumbs-down for a daft answer shouldn't equate to a violation .... if it does, I'm knackered, lol : )

No, I got 4 thumbs down for saying where have all the smart people gone and I was just joking. I mean the question was ask me something to make me laugh so I kinda thought that was funny but I guess no one else did. I didn't mean for anyone to take it the wrong way.

it depends... if the answer is really offensive, may be..???

but there are also T.D.S. (thumbs down suckers) who are regulars here and whose only mission in their daily boring life is to give thumbs down, what if you gave a sensible answer and you were the innocent, unknowing victim of their random picking?

mind you, they are stalkers too! they'd follow every question where you could possibly go and give only you the thumbs down...

then this would not be fair if Yahoo would automatically remove the answer as violation...

I agree with SLUTTY ,you get violated for some crappy reasons , because 1 or 2 people don't like your opinion !!!! There should be a childrens section & an adult section as some of the stuff can get really crude sometimes....

No i think they should look into why someone has been reported rather than automatically issuing a violation

That would be (Tightness) she got like 18 on one question for being down right nasty and belligerent.
yahoo cant stop them they'll just come back with a new account and name.
I wish thy can do something about people like that.
I don't like giving thumbs down , but to scum like that i do.
But I think thy should just get rid of that thumbs down.
I think its worthless.

No. Some people seem to do it because they have a different point of view, rather than the answer being offensive.
