You vista laptop has to be properly configured for the wireless network. Have you configured the adapter to the SSID and set the encryption? When you view wireless networks does the system show properly? Heck does your vista laptop have a wireless adapter?

Vista works fine when properly setup.

Hi,

It could be that the wireless settings of the vista computer doesn't match with the modem's settings.
you have to make sure they are properly configured on the vista computer(SSID,encryption,etc)

you should also verify if your wireless modem/router/access point is compatible with Vista OS. contact the tech support if

Try configuring the SSID manually on Vista, and make sure you enter the correct parameters, such as type of encryption, authentication and so on..

Try unplugging the Modem , waiting 20 seconds then plug it back in.

your router may well be setup to apply the "g" or "n" settings and your older card may well be a "b". flow in the process the community settings and notice if it is the case and alter it to artwork with all types.
