Yes, some mice are quite intelligent, they are not all the same, the problem for what you say is that they already know the place and they are suspicious about the traps, remember that when you take them they have your smell.
Cheese is always the best, it doesn't matter what people say, another good chance is to use the glue papers as they never thought about it, and there are also some small boxes that when inside they are not able to go out.
The additional problem is that you have 3 and if the others see how one of them die then the other ones will be more difficult to get, so it doesn't matter the trick you want to use you have to be after it to remove the trapped mouse as soon as possible.
Another solution is to become really aggressive stick in hand, door open and made them really scared, depending the configuration of the place this stress therapy can work wonders, if you start to move furniture and hunting them they will not fill safe anymore.
Another solution is a cat, for the most intelligent and pernicious mouses a cat is the proper natural lethal stubborn weapon and additionally the smell of the cat endures for a time so prevent new ones for coming.
Man, I hope you manage, going back, if I have to choose, the sticky paper is the best.

Is the food staying on the trap or is the mouse stealing it? Try black licorice, and make sure its wedge'd tight on the trap. I have also used hot dog. I bought some new mousetraps from Home Depot, the plate that the food sits on is orange like a piece of cheese and bigger, and VERY sensitive. It took a couple of times setting it because it was SO sensitive it kept snapping before I could set it down...give them a try..anything that you could put on the trap that gives off a strong odor and has to be tugged off will do the trick..good luck!

you have 2 complications why they are no longer working. a million. you're putting too a lot peanut butter on the capture. in case you place too a lot they are going to devour barely adequate and the capture won't flow off. 2. Your traps are interior the incorrect place. they must be placed alongside the partitions the place mice holiday no longer contained in direction of a community. If in some days you do no longer seize something you will desire to flow them to a diverse section.

Are you singeing traps after handling them? Mice will boycott the human smell. Borrow a cat from a friend or adopt one from your local animal shelter and you will never be troubled by mice again.

Try Bacon in the mouse traps. It is greasy therefore stays *fresh* in the trap. You probably have a colony so it will take several weeks before you have caught all of the community.

simply find out what sex they are and get a costume of the opposite sex. if they are all male mices then dress as a woman mousey and hang around the kitchen looking sexy and slightly aloof. (mouses really go for aloofness... no one knows why).
when the mouses approach you, suggest you go out on a date to somewhere quite far. after the date explain that you need to go to the toilet. whilst there, simply climb out through the window and go home.
the mouse will not come back to your house for two reasons.
a. it probably wont be able to afford the taxi fare.
b. they are easily embarrassed and would never live down the fact that they were stood up.
whilst this is a fool-proof way of dealing with vermin, you have to take into consideration the cost of taking several mouses out to moderately expensive restaurants.
glad i could help.
