No, its not. Is it really fair on a child to bring it into this world, when you are unsure of what you will be doing in the next day never mind the next year? Is it really fair to bring a child into this world when you know that you are still a child yourself and will therefore be unable to finish school/college/university and be unable to give proper care to a child financially or otherwise? Is it really fair to bring a child into this world when you know yourself that you are still too immature and irresponsible (not taking precautions against this from happening) even to take proper care of your self? Please, abortion is most definitely not a hate crime!

How can something be a crime when it's a right? A choice? No I don't believe so, and I think you're failing miserably in trying to argue a point here, but hey, keep digging, maybe you'll have a leg to stand on if you keep on trying...

and what do you suppose the death penalty is

are you pro-life or are you so ignorant as to believe that God appointed you judge???

I am gonna plaster something very personal for you to read because folks like you don't get it until they understand REAL LIFE EXAMPLES:

Okay.. this answer will strike a controverial nerve.. but here ya go

I am 41 & my live-in of many years is 43

about 5 years ago, I was 2 weeks late for my period. He had a vasectomy @ 7 years prior. IN fact, the doctor who performed the vasectomy was a military doctor known for his very low failure rate because he took more than needed of the tubes.... Self-Test came back unclear with results. And I have Multiple Sclerosis & on a medication that would be very devistating to developing fetus.

I have worked for over 20 years in advertising with BellSouth Yellow Pages. Our clients are assigned to us and two of my clients were doctors that own abortion clinic. (regardless of the fact that I was pro-life at the time, I had ethical commitments to the company I worked for to offer top-notch expertise & service regardless of person feelings.. I also handle a few strip-clubs & some escort services.. I am strongly against prostitution)

I called one of them in desperate need for an answer & was told that roughly 20% of vasectomies reverse themsleves at between the 5-10 year mark from the time of the vasectomy.

Now, we were terrified.. what to do?? SO I called my OB/GYN that had delivered my son when I was 22. She said "OH GOD" because of the medications I was on... and I made an appointment.

I was in fact pregnant & we decided to not get an abortion at that time & ride it out to get a better idea closer to the 8 - 12 week mark. I prayed & prayed for answers.. what to do... and @ 11 weeks I mis-carried.

I was relieved of the burdeon of deciding what to do... some drug manufactures make you sign (for certain medications) that you must have an abortion if you get pregnant (this way they avoid lawsuits). However, this despirate situation made me change my mind about my stance on Pro-Life & to realize that Pro-Choice was about a much larger picture than after-the-fact birth control.

No, it's not a hate crime. It's not even a crime. If it were a crime I would catagorize as a "Selfish Crime". Though I have never been faced with an unwanted pregnancy. It's hard to judge until you walk in someone else's shoes.

A hate crime? A hate crime involves committing a crime due to hate of one's race, color, ethnic background, etc. Please explain where you believe the "hate" part comes into play when a woman has to make this terribly difficult decision?

Abortion is an issue best left to the individual situation and woman concerned. No one, not me or you or the Gov. has the right to tell a woman what to do with her body.

I believe all crimes are 'hate' crimes and don't believe that there should be a different level of punishment based on whether the law interprets the crimes as 'hateful' or not.

Whether that person has a name, consciousness or 'thought' doesn't matter to me...SOMEONE dies when there is an abortion.

I also think it's stupid to call it a 'choice'...you had the choice not to be irresponsible.

It may be 'your body'...but now someone else's body is in yours now because you were irresponsible. Why is their body less valuable than yours?
