Suppose I use a Core 2 Due E6300 mother board with 1066 MHz FSB. I use a 400MHz DDR ram. Then will my actual bus speed be only 400MHz, or will it be 1066MHz?

Is 1066MHz RAM available in the market?

It really depends on the motherboard(mobo). If mobo is strictly ddr2, you can not use your ddr400. In a mobo like this, you can use it on the ddr slot and it will run at 400mhz.

High speed ddr2 are available, like this one which can run up to 1200mhz:

But most mobo support only 800mhz speed. You only get the full benefit of high performance RAM when you overclock your processor. If you do not overclock, the only benefit you get is the low latency.

Well the front side bus will still work at 1066Mhz but the memory will actually slow your system down to 400Mhz. Even though it will slow it down you need to see what the buffer is for your hard drive, remember that the hard drive will also be used as temporary RAM storage to help the system cope with fast CPU's and information traveling through. Hope this gives you some kind of idea of what is going on inside of your computer. Remember that the weakest link is what will slow it down.

It will be 400, 1066 is the maximum the motherboard can handle.
