About 3 weeks ago, one of my female mollies gave birth to around 40 fry. Now, i have about 6 left. They are around 1cm in length. When can they go into the main tank?
Please reply soon!
Thankyou.
:)

I breed Molly's, sword tails, guppies and platys and it all depends on the size not the age, it also depends on what else you have in the tank as i have a few fish that wait till darkness and search them out. I have at the moment a baby tank as i call it, not a floating tank just a small tank, i keep them in the floating tank till they settle a little after they 1st born, after week or so i move them into my baby tank and just let them in the big tank when they won't fit in the others mouths but i still take them out at night for a while so they are safe till they are old enough.
If you don't have a baby tank just wait till they bigger than the other fishes mouth and that you got plenty of plants and hiding places for them to hide in, and put them back in floating tank at night.
Good luck x

Not until they are at least 2 months old. The other fish if eat them. Make sure you have lots of plants live or plastic for them to hide in. I have found out the hard way that at night the big fish will run into them and stun them and all the fish will pick at it until it dead and they eat them. I don't understand how most of them died. I just had 2 female mollies give birth to about 100 fry and they are living and growing fast.
To see my fry goto my site., and also their is infor how to take care of fry under my blog.

you're able to desire to place them right into a fish bowl or slightly tank with a pump and air stones so as which you oxygenate the water you besides would would desire to maintain the water at 24C that's in the event that they are chilly water i'm to unsure approximately tropical fish. you do no longer would desire to apply gravel etc for the 2d until they get slightly older. If his tank is in good project then it is going to likely be okay to apply whether it isn't any longer stated through micro organism which would be interior the tank. you in basic terms would desire to have a small tank. meals that secure for fry are: toddler brine shrimp Liquid fry foodstuff for stay bearers Micro worms Tropical fish flake foodstuff (overwhelmed into high-quality powder. Mollies would be a good beginner fish. no longer in basic terms are they friendly to visual show unit, yet are very non violent and not aggressive in direction of different community fish. wish this facilitates further i think of a few human beings have responded your question incorrect and that they are getting chilly water Black Moors blended up with tropical black mollies.

It won;t be too much longer now before you can release them. Time doesn't matter at all, what you are looking for is size. As long as they are too large for the other fish not to eat them you are safe whether that is 4 weeks or 10 weeks doesn't matter. Warm temperatures, good and frequent feedings and clean water will keep them on a steady and fast growth rate.

If you are raising them then keep them seperate until they can be no less than 1 inch.IF youre running just a normal tank and seem to be over run with them then let nature take its couse.Put ALOT of shells , plants, anything they can hide in.I only kept mine in a net breeder attahed to top of tank. Then released as soon as they were swimming good.Mollies can produce lots of fry.So depends on what you want to do with them...Goodluck

I would leave them away from the parents until they are about three inches long.
