If there are droughts, floods, organisms entering or leaving the area, this will cause changes in the use and distribution of the biotic factors. Sometimes it may help other times it may not. You need to keep abreast of these changes and their effects on your specimens.

I guess it is important to sample from time to time, because something could change in the environment that would allow the bacteria to spread differently than it had before.
