I have a ECS 945GZT-M motherboard with an onboard VGA. I bought an ATI RADEON X1550 and the comp. refuses to use it as a Graphics adapter? Is there any solution how to make it work? I've plugged it in and it still uses the onboard VGA as the display adapter.

There is no option in BIOS that makes it possible to disable the onboard vga

"Go into BIOS...go to PCI/PnP Config...set Init Display First to PCI Express"

It is set to that and still isn't working

This could meant the new card is not compatiable or its not talking to the motherboard.

turn on your PC...hit delete during POST to get into the BIOS...go into "Integrated Settings" and choose the option to DISABLE onboard video.

Edit:
Go into BIOS...go to PCI/PnP Config...set Init Display First to PCI Express

Edit:
In Advanced Chipset Setting...set Share Memory Size to Disable if you can.

you have to transfer the vga connector to the external video card after setting 'default vga' to auto or pcie. set also the ecsd to reset in the bios.
