(x+1)/divide both parts on the left by -2:
(-x/2) +(-1/2) >3 i moved the negative sign to the top of the fraction because that is the way it would be written.
now you can multiply everything by 2:
-x -1 >6
& move the -1 to the other side:
-x > 7
x< -7

x has to be a negative number so that being
divided by a negative number will become positive, right?
so it has to be more than -2 x 3 -1
x < -7 (meaning -8, -9, -10 etc)
e.g., -8+1/-2 = -7/-2 = 3.5 which is greater than 3
tadaa!

(x+1)/(-2) > 3
cross multiply...but since you multiply 3 by (-2), you have to reverse the inequality symbol..so...
x+1 < -6
then,
x < -7

first of all you can make them equal
(x+1)/(-2)=3
then solve for "x"
x+1=-6
x=-7
=> for this question x < -7
it means for any value x is smaller than -7 this equation is correct
