you need to go through everything u already have. if you don't need it, toss it. really...it helps. don't be a pack rat.
figure out what can be put away. get boxes and such. organize like items together. if you need to get something out, put it away when you're done.
important or commonly used items can stay out in the open more often. if you don't use something for 6 months to a year you should prolly toss it. like clothes and such. if you can get a small storage utility, that really helps too. that's for stuff you need to keep, but never use.
everything needs a place. usually disorganized people tend to lose or misplace things (keys, shoes, pens, you name it). find the best place for something and always put it back! that one's important.
you don't have to do this all at once. just do little things to fall into a healthy comfortable habit.
good luck. hope this works for you.
and don't let your parents get you down.

I had this problem too. Firstly, you need to go through your room and organise everything. Throw out anything that you don't need and find a place for everything else, so that you know where everything is and everything is in order. After that, it's easy. Simply when you use something, put it back in its place after you use it. When you take books or papers out to do your homework, tidy them up after. When you take your clothes off put them back neatly in your closet/in the laundry. And once a week clean your room thoroughly. Make your bed every day. Over time, it will get easier and you will feel much better, too. But don't be too hard on yourself, generally some people are just messy and you'll get better as you get older. In any case, being messy is not a terrible crime!

start with your books. get a bookcase and stack all your books on there.
next get a pencil holder and put all your pens, pencils, rulers, etc. in there
then you place your lamp and your pencil holder, stapler, tape, whatever, on your desk
depending how big it is, you can pile your homework on one side so you can just start from top to bottom and finish your homework
put all your shirts, pants onto hangers and place them into the closet
all your under clothes put into your drawers
whatever cologne you have put it on top of your drawers
if you think about it, it's really not that hard. once you get into the cleaning mode, you pretty much keep going until you are satisfied. however, don't stop until you know everything is in place because if you don't, then you'll just go bck to your old habit of just dumping stuff wherever. you should have designated spots for things because by having these designated spots you are helping yourself remember and tha'ts good for your memory.

start with your desk
when you have rearranged that work on your floor then your bed and then you wardrobes and cabinets
then you will have completed your challenge
the important thing is to do a daily check and keep to it
assign 10 mins every day for a tidy up
takes practice

To be neat is a sort of self culture, and it hits the fact that neatness is strongly connected with health. when you see a dirty person you can judge what type of character he or she is. The dirty person is in-respectable.

you could continually employ someone to sparkling for you. there are a decision of those focusing on handling clutter. if it really is too expensive, then attempt making a take care of your self; say, in case you sparkling this one part of your position in a week, then you actually can take care of your self to at least something particular. that type of mission commonly works for me, yet i dunno about you.
