Poor guy; he won't like this answer BUT from an artist's stance the correct complimentary color here is actually SHADES OF PALE PINK.
Check any fashion designer manual or art manual and you will see that I am right. Fortunately a pale pink in modern times is not something that should make any man feel strange to wear.
Hey, just tell him that the old traditional yuppie colors (again, ask ANYONE from the 80's) was pink and green!

I was going to say a bright green color, but that wouldn't be a very nice looking suit; unless it was a black suit with lime green pinstripes - that would reign supreme.
Sky Blue is another color that I feel works well with pisachio, the problem is if you committ to a colored suit it will often look tacky. It would probably be best to go with black - which goes well with pistachio already - with either sky blue or light green elements.

Since pistachio is a light colour, i think a pastel colour shirt would go well... like blue, purple...
