I'm a Pre U graduate and recently waiting for answers to enter local university. Days are long for me now, I have a part time job, but not much money to spend, I'm broke..! Going to a movie or a drink with friends are interesting but need money. Any ways to make myself happy & not feeling bored without using money?

Go on walks. Go running. Play sports. Sing. Visit museums. Do volunteer work. Take up a hobby. Try a hobby that can generate funds. Find friends who'd rather just hang around and talk. Assuming you have a PC, I'm sure there are many ways to make yourself happy online.

Start running with a partner. It takes time to get used to running, but then after a few months, it's addicting and fun. You could train for a marathon or something. Also, try hiking. I also recommend going to a used bookstore with a friend and just hang out and read what's on the shelf - I could spend hours doing this. Or volunteer - there are so many places to volunteer. Find a place close by.

Read a book! Go birdwatching. Go to a museum, some of them take 'donations' so it doesn't cost much. Go for a walk with a friend. Play computer games.

Volunteer at a soup kitchen or with Habitat for Humanity.

Good luck getting in.

You have received many great suggestions ...my pick of them is to look for some volunteer work !

There are many areas you could choose from but all of them offer the reward of self satisfaction & knowing that you have made a difference in somebody's life .

What's more , it isn't uncommon for someone in your position to find it alters the course of your life...gives you a totally different perspective & refocusses your vision & goals.

Give it a try ...you won't be disappointed .

Why not do some volunteer work? There are so many places that need help that I'm sure you could find something you'd enjoy. It might even be something that would work towards whatever you plan to study at university.

Do something you enjoy AND make money from it. Be a dog walker. Take pictures. Do something you are good at and enjoy. Kills two birds with one stone and makes the task all that more enjoyable knowing that you can hang out with your friends and watch movies with them later.
Good luck!
