It would take a long time but I suppose eventually
I'd forgive. I would be more angry that she had carried
on with an affair for years - that would make me sick
with anger - cos I had the best dad ever.

(I'd have a shock if she told me that now though
cos she died 8 years ago!!)

I'd forgive, and try to understand. If the affair had been going on for years then she must be love with the guy. You said an affair, not a string of them, so it seems that her and dad were not happy, I hope he managed to find someone too!

This sounds harsh but it would not surprise me in the least. My mum had many affairs while she was married to my father, and thought I knew nothing of them. But it does get a little suspect when the plumber comes back with sweets for us and mum says not to tell dad he came, or the butcher etc!

Id need some time away from her to come to terms with it. Then i'd eventually forgive. Id have to ask if my two fathers knew about it. The guy I knew as my dad and the guy who was my real dad (if she knew who that was). And Id have to ask why she didnt tell me sooner. And get a DNA test to know for sure.

Forgive her eventually. Feel bad for her/me in the mean time. That would be a really tricky thing to deal with. I don't think anyone really knows for sure what they would do in that situation though. No one would expect it.

I would forgive, if she has brought you up with love and care in a happy home and always protected you, everyone makes mistakes and no-one is perfect.

Forgive and carry on as before, if you love him.

Forgive without a doubt. My love for my mother is definitely unconditional love just like it is for my children.

I think I would have to forgive her eventually, and respect her telling me, but it would be a really hard thing to cope with.

Since my father is an abusive alcoholic, I would be glad to find out that I had another dad.
