WASPS are predators of flies and caterpillars. One wasp may make several predatory expeditions an hour.
One nest could contain a couple of thousand adult hunters. That's a lot fewer caterpillars and flies in a garden, even after one day.
Wasps can convert your garden fence into a three-dimensional paper architecture that can support at least 10 times its own weight. That seems to me worth a round of applause.
One wasp can provoke limb-flailing frenzy in a creature 100,000 times its own size, a defensive, yes defensive, advantage that should impress any military strategist.
Wasp grubs are the favoured diet of that strange bird of prey, the honey buzzard (Pernis apivorus) - long may it survive.
Even if you are decidedly against wasps, at least learn to respect the enemy.
There are possibly a thousand species of social wasps worldwide.
Their colonies range in size from two adults to about one million (yes, a million wasps estimated in one nest of a South American species).

i detect it very traumatic that such particularly some have the shared journey that each and every person way of bees wasps hornets etc are out to sting and are so risky. I certainly have for years been feeding paper wasps that i presumed have been yellow jackets for 2 years. they do feed on honey bees honey... so via feeding them I certainly have been hoping that my interference with nature does not be so negatively impacted. My "bees" or fairly wasps 're as comfortable as would be and positively come interior the abode and land on me while the syrup or honey I positioned out for them or end result has been depleted. I besides as my infants positioned an identical meals on my hand and have as much as 50 or seventy 5 at a time blanketing my hand until I would desire to bypass away and that i shake them off Nd they bypass back peacefully. I keep them while they het below the poring honey and can in any different case drown and that they bypass suited on my finger and have in no way stung me. I positioned my face above their dish while there are thousands interior the air and between all of them the basically land on me as though I have been one among them.

The purpose of a wasp is to propagate it's own waspy genes. That's why those genes built a wasp - in order to create more copies of themselves. It's called Darwinism, folks!

I personally could live without them
but they kill other insects but a lot of birds, lizards, frogs and things do that as well. It is a nice thought to see them go extinct they are nasty creatures

None ... people always say bugs do their part, but really it is Wind, Water, and Fire that cleans the Earth's surface.
People say Termites are made to get rid of fallen trees, but they only eat 40% of the wood (soft wood) and they leave 60% of the wood (hard wood) fire, wind, and water is what really gets rid of forest debris
