And why don't women have more of them, like an eight breasted cat lady, or three breasts, one breast.

I like saying breast
breast
I am abreast to the situation
I need a breast of fresh air.
Why is it called a breast anyways?

it's all to do with breast feeding. the reason there is no more than two is because the reproduction system is only commonly able to substain one life (there are fewer case of multiple births but the majority is single birth) cats and dogs have more breast as their genetic make-up allows them to constantly have multiple births.

(-: Very well engineered for the feeding of infants -- although, if Mother Nature has a complaint department, I have a couple I'd like to send in.

It's pure luck that men happen to find them attractive, too (-:.

I'm rather glad we don't have six or eight. Can you imagine trying to play tennis that way? It's hard enough with two C-cups bouncing in the way!

I can't find any good etymologies -- I suspect that breast always meant breast, all the way back to the old German.

I did see something interesting, although I'm not sure it's true -- one traced "mother" back through the Latin "mater" to an Iranian word "ma-dar" -- which means breast! So, have a Happy Mother's Day!

all the ones I've seen had the points on the front.

not gonna bother with the bad puns, but "abreast of the situation" come from the 14th century paint-drinker Arms Akimbo, that swore on his deathbed that he had the feather pens in his nostrils when he came up with it and put it to parchment.

The etymology of the word is pretty complicated. Most say it comes from the old English word Breost, meaning Teat, Jug, Yabbo, Hooter, Knocker, Funbag, Honker, Headlamp or Squirting Bugged Eye of the Schnitznoodle. But nobody knows for sure.

To make it easier for the BABY to nurse. We usually don't give birth to litters, so no need really for more than two. We can only hold 2 babies at a time. One breast would be asymmetrical.

obsessed, eh...mom must not have breast-fed you...or weaned you too early...

we only have two, because most women have one or two babies at a time...

breast are shaped like that because the baby has to be able to get a firm suction grip with his mouth.

grown men are just reaping the benefits of natures original plan...

The "point" (no pun intended) is that it is the most effiecient shape to feed offspring. We only have two, because multiple births (naturally occuring) are extremely rare.

It is think that make ladies different from the men in attractants. 60 % beauty of women depends on the breast. If they have more than two it would become ugly my friend.
