Equation is y = mx + c
m is the slope hence 9
then y = 9x + c
Now put in (0,5)
you have
5 = c as 9x = 0
Then equation is
y = 9x + 5

You should memorize the "point slope formula" as it is a useful formula.

(y-y1)=m(x-x1)

In this case:
y1=the y coordinate of your point (5)
x1=the x coordinate of your point (0)
m=slope (9)

So if you plug in the numbers into the formula you get:

(y-5)=9(x-o)
y=9(x-0)+5 (brought 5 to other side)
y=9x+5 (multiplied out 9(x-0))

And there you have your equation of the line in y=mx+b format.

Another way to write the equation would be to bring everything over to one side and make it equal zero:

-9x+y-5=0

Remember math is fun! :)

These are the easiest and most fun to do if you remember that the straight line is y(x) = mx + b
You are given that m = 9, so
y(x) = 9x + b
You are told that the y-intercept is y(0) = 5, so
y(0) = 9(0) + b = 5, or b = 5
then y(x) = 9x + 5

slope-intercept form : y = mx + b
where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept (the value of y when x is zero)

y = 9x + 5

the slope of the equation is the same as the gradient.
let gradient = m = 9
using the point gradient formula:
(y - y1) = m(x - x1)
y1 = 5
x1=0
sub in equation
(y - 5) = 9 (x - 0)
y - 5 = 9x
9x - y +5 = 0
is the equation
hope that helps

y intercept is where the y coordinate crosses the y axis.
in this case, 5
Hence. y=mx+c where m = the slope, c is the y intercept. y=9x+5.

y - b = m.(x - a)
y - 5 = 9.(x - 0)
y = 9x + 5

y=9x+5 if you want it in standard form
-9x+y=5
9x-y=-5 is standard form
