I absolutely love this movie and still watch it quite regularly. My fave character would be Chaucer but I love the lines " it's called a lance ..... hello". Also think the melding of medieval music into "golden years" by David Bowie was incredible. Jocelyn's costume design was so cool too.

*Roche*: I love Chaucer. When accused of lying: "I'm a writer, I give truth scope!" Ha! Hi-larious. And so true.
I loved William and Jocelyn dancing to the song that turns into Golden Years by David Bowie. One of my favs.
The romance between William and Jocelyn did feel forced. He so just liked her for her looks. And does Rufus Sewell just play the same character in every movie he's in? But still, good flick. Not the best, but one I've wasted many an afternoon on.

...a personal favorite!!!
Much as I enjoyed the meld of the medieval setting with the Rock 'n' Roll soundtrack in 1985's "Ladyhawke", the combination of the two in "A Knight's Tale" is equally enjoyable.
I have a list of my top twenty-five movies moments, ranging from classic films, to contemporary ones; the dance hall sequence, where Heath Ledger's character is attempting to display a native dance from Gelderland, with everyone getting involved, and the background music, melding from a light medieval medley, to David Bowie's "Golden Years" was absolutely brilliant, and easily included in my top 25 movie moments!!!

I love Heath Ledger in anything. I liked the mix of the old English scenery with modern music.

This is my word and as such it is beyond contestation!
(i loved that line in the film)
Anyway this was a really really nice film. A great watch. I didn't expect too much from it but came away very satisfied. Not the best film of its genre, but a head above most. And the blending of contemporary style and music and characterization with the medieval story/setting is really well done. It really shouldn't but it does work! 7/10.

I like it. It was funny and very campy. Overall good plot. Although the romance between Ledger and the princess, could have been a little better, it wasn't very genuine. 7 out of 10

Actually it was released before that. I seen it in 2001 with my girlfriend at the time at the movie theater. I like the fat guy in the movie but it was okay.

Great movie - one I can watch more than once. It has a good story about him and his dad, it's funny, and creative. While the soundtrack is not from that time, I really enjoyed it. My favorite part is when he jousts with the prince, and later the prince honors him for it.

I really iked it. it had a lot of word play and ryhming in it which was fun to listen too. My boyfriend didn't like it though, he said it didn't go with the time frame of the movie. Which is true, but it didn't ruin the movie for me.
