Should we allow U.S. citizens who were not born in the U.S. to run for President?

Should we change the age minimum?

What do you think?

I believe there needs to be an overhaul in our political system.

1. We must stop campaign contributions all together.
-> A set amount of campaign funds will be allocated to individuals who wish to run for their respective positions. Nothing more nothing less.

2. A complete ban on lobbyists.
->No more special interest groups. No more tinkering of the democratic process by Corporate America.

3. Congressmen and Senators must report to their constituents every x number of months (preferably often). Either by web cast, television, etc.

4. Civil servants must represent their constituents not their own beliefs.

5. With a growing immigrant population base we should allow U.S. citizens who were not born in the U.S. to run for President.

I cannot believe the answers here. All against and yet not one spelling out a reason why. Has our country really become this Xenophobic? That we consider where and when someone was born as more important than the sort of upbringing they had, the education they have recieved, thier achievements in thier life. Why would we want to prevent someone qualified and capable from leading us just because they weren't born here?

No I don't think that it would matter, but it ain't right to have somebody who isn't a natural born citizen as the chief executive. Age i doubt would matter if it were changed since it would be hard to gain enough experience before 35 to run for president.

S. simply by fact an excellent style of the immigrants have been immigrants against their will. They have been borrowers that have been shipped over right here to get them out of their domicile countries' hair and to maintain themselves out of detention center. Nowdays, there remains no thank you to guarantee an immigrants loyalty to the U. S.. many human beings from different countries nonetheless call their old u . s . "domicile". They fly the flag of their "domicile" u . s . on their properties, companies and vehicles. they do no longer opt to income our language, and assume everybody else to income their language to speak with them. Are they unswerving to the U. S. or to themselves? do you opt to threat the proper u . s . on earth to somebody who won't grow to be an entire citizen of the U. S.? i do no longer.
