And has a license but hasn't driven in 3 years because he never really needed to and couldn't afford a car?

Would you date him?

Not driving is a handicap, you need to drive. I used to say I'd never drive because I was too scared, now I can't imagine my life without driving. People will look down on the fact that you don't drive. It's not a plus :(

YOU CAN DO IT !

YOU WILL DRIVE AGAIN !

YOU WILL BUY YOUR OWN CAR !

No it's not bad to be 22 and not driving . Driving is not about an age it's about timing and maybe the timing was right for you to stop driving 3 years ago . It seems to be wrong now though, because it's bothering you, it's time for you to get motivated and stop letting people drive you around and start working on your own transportation whether that be walking, biking or driving a car. If it takes you getting a car to get a date, then that's one date you don't need. You need someone to like you for who you are and not what you're driving . Don't worry about what the last girl said to you about getting a car.. she doesn't matter but used what she said to be more movtivated but don't take it to heart !
I think you're a wonderful guy whose going to meet someone very special one day when you take the time to WALK down the street.

I had a colleague that lived her entire life in either New York City or L.A. She never has driven once and she's in her 40's! She has never felt the need given that public transportation gets her where she needs to go.

I have another male friend who has never driven and he is 39! For a long time he was a drunk and an alcoholic (even in his teens). He chose not to drive so as not to endanger the lives of others. Not a bad choice for a guy who didn't make good choices. He has still had girlfriends and they didn't seem to mind being the driver. Who knows?

I wouldnt have a problem with that. As long as he found his own mode of transportation thats all that counts. My brother is 25, has his license but doesnt own a car and never plans to either. He gets around just fine. If a girl only looks at the money or material side of things...who cares - give them a $1 and tell them to move on to the next unlucky sod. As for you, you deserve better ;) Cheers!

Sure. But in my case, he'd best be prepared to walk everywhere because I don't have a car either.
