You may have the skill... but what it takes is "connections"... it's all about who you know in this industry. I would suggest doing an internship (which basically means working for free!) for an audio house. If you can't work for free, then start looking into audio houses in LA or NY. Give them a call and ask if they are hiring. You may have to start at the bottom, but if you're good, you'll move up fast.
The other option is to contact a local film school and offer to do soundtracks for student films... those students are future directors!
