The dealer ask me if vibration was only when just beginning to drive before warm-up. The car was very new and I didn't know answer. Now I know, the answer is "no". It happens when car is cold and when it has been driven for awhile. He suggested it may be tire(s) with a flat spot or possibly the transmission. The vibration starts about 45 mph and slowly builds to about 55 mph, then begins to lessen so it is almost gone around 60 - 65 mph.

My wife drives the car most of the time and she says a few times she has felt a hesitation when she pressed on the gas peddle to start from a full stop or when she presses the gas peddle to accelerate for passing.

Yesterday she said it feels like she must press the gas peddle more to achieve the same acceleration she got in the past with less peddle pressure, but she's not sure as it's a new car and she may be remembering her old car.

We have no other problems with the car except the trunk lid needed to be painted after purchase.

Take the car back, and demand that they keep it until the problem has been fixed. Most likely the wheels just need balancing or something like that. I've had a TL from new for 2 years and I never had this problem.

As for the gas peddle it may be different from other cars she has driven before. The TL has a drive by wire throttle system, the peddle is not physically connected to the engine like on most cars. When you do stuff with the peddle, it talks to the computer and the computer tells the engine what to do. For example if you suddenly put your foot to the floor, the computer does something different than if you slowly push down.

Also unlike most cars the peddle is anchored at the bottom, like a BMW or Porsche. This can take some getting used to too, especially if your wife has small feet. The ball of her foot may be closer to the hinge and therefore the peddle may seem different than on a regular car.

So I think that the likelihood is that the car is fine, but needs a wheel balance.

It's difficult to gauge from your question exactly where do you feel the vibration the most. For example, is it on the gearshift or generally the car or on the seat.

If it is the gearshift, it is not an uncommon thing. Honda is known to make high rpm (revolutions per minute) engines which gives it the pep that you feel while accelerating. However, the downside is that these engines tend to transmit the vibration a lot more than low rpm engines.

From what you have described, I sense this might be the case since you mentioned that it begins to lessen after 55 mph and is gone by the time you hit 60-65 mph. Very simply the engine rpm drops as you come to the crusing speed.

In case you feel it on the seat, then it is definitely something you need to make a noise with the dealer or directly with the company guys. In all likelihood, you are dealing with either tire or transmission related problem which is causing the vibration to be felt while seated.

assuming its never been in a wreak . and its a new car. im gonna say tires first .run your hand around the circumferance of the wheel on the tread surface. it should be an even surface if not then when it gets to rollin the tire will start hopping. also. the same will happen if the wheels arent balanced , you can check for that by looking at tread wear.its called cupping. . your question was kinda broard . can you try to find if its the front of the car or rear of the car passenger side or drivers side.could be just about anything that rotates. with all the clues you have given i would say tires the tread wear tells a story .if your wife says the acceleration is poor then it could be the engine how does the engine sound? how bout you drive it and then ask the question again.with better details

Check this and it is cheap and easy. Check to make sure the wheels are true, you might have a bent wheel.

The machine will show the wheel balanced, but it wont check for "wobble". This happened to me once. New vehicle with low miles, the wheels were computer balanced yet there was a vibration that set in about 50 and went away at about 65.

The mechanic finally raised the suspected wheel and did an "on vehicle wheel spin up." He got that wheel to going good. The machine showed that the wheel was balanced, yet the fender was shaking, the mirror was rattling...

He checked the wheel and it was "out of true". A new wheel solved the problem. The dealer suspected that someone banged a curb or something before I received the vehicle. It happens.

The TL is an older layout which just about to get replaced in a pair years with an all new form which will characteristic the SH-AWD device. lots of the comments i have examine on the TL element out the actual undeniable truth that it has way too a lot power for the front wheels and torque steers like loopy. it truly is like all Acura, solid, uncomplicated to stay with, and uninteresting as hell. it truly is depending on the Accord platform, it quite is an outstanding automobile despite the indisputable fact that it truly is quite extra of a 'close to-events' sedan than a real events sedan. The G35x grow to be in basic terms refreshed for 2007 and is in accordance with a larger end platform, the Nissan FM (the front-Midship). that's an same platform used for the 350Z and the awd device is the vaunted ATTESA E-TS. it truly is a lot extra automobile on you funds. It also feels a lot extra like a luxury automobile, with the interior aluminum panels modeled after Washi paper. it truly is a real competitor for BMW with its inline format and performance oriented chassis. The Acura has extra helpful gas mileage and a extra helpful nav device. The G35 is extra helpful in each opposite direction except fee, yet when it were me, i might want to really forgo concepts than get the TL. As for being a extra helpful purchase, in case you consider resale fee I wager both vehicles have an same fee of possession. The G35 coupe has topped residual fee charts for decades now, it quite is a superb proxy for desirability. avert the Maxima in any respect expenditures. it truly is like a larger, heavier TL. The Maxima has 0 capacity to manage its monster engine and could in basic terms attempt to kill you once you step on the gas. FWD + > 250hp in basic terms do no longer mixture.

First easy step. Balance all 4 tires and ask the employye to check the condition of your tires. If that does not fix your problem the dealer have to fix it.

Vibration at freeway speeds may be due to tire alignment or out of balance. Has your wife bumped a curb really hard recently?
