It depends on what you are doing on the computers.

Say you have DSL. Your total Download bandwidth will be about 1.5Mb/s. If you are downloading a file at say 300Kb/s then that leaves 1.2Mb/s bandwidth for you to do other things.

So unless you are downloading multiple files or streaming some large video files your internet should not slow noticably if the two computers are just doing normal surfing or chatting....

I had comcast high speed internet and yahoo dsl. A router letting 2 pcs on one internet line slowed down a lot. It was ok if only one pc was being used at a time. But, if two pcs were on at the same time, not only did the internet slow down, so did the respective computers. Now I paid about $70 with tax for my router, and I'll never use one again, unless I own a bussiness that depends on using one,,,,like if I win a big lottery jack pot, or minimum wages goes up $10 more per hour!

Yes it can. But that also depends on what type of Connection you have if you have a DSL connection there is going to be a more noticable change than if you have a Cable connection. Due to the volume of transfer.

hope it helps.

Of course, since you're sharing bandwidth and you might create collisions in the router or hub.

Yes, because your router has to share its bandwidth with two computers instead of one.
