I have been tanning about 3 months and it seems like im not getting any darker. What can I do, use, put on? to help me get darker. I see girls who are so dark and have tanned fewer time than me. I heard Designer Skin and Matahari are the best. True?

try a tingle lotion...they are formulated with ingredients to help u get past your tanning plateau...as long as your skin isn`t sensitive & u have a base tan, that would probably be the best option for u...tingle lotions have ingredients that increase your blood circulation, which in turn causes your body to tan to its optimum potential...i recommend "hot tottie" by pro tan...it`s extremely powerful!!!

Hi Ashley! Nice to talk to a fellow tanner. Everyone on here thinks we're so awful for wanting dark skin! It sounds like you've hit a tanning plateau. And you're right that something has to change to break through it. The lotion brands you mentioned are good, but the main thing to keep in mind here is not the brand per se, but the ingredients.

You need a lotion with "tingle". It'll help kick your tanning up a notch. There are tons of tanning lotions from tons of companies with tingle that are good. Designer Skin's most popular tingle is probably Rock Star (contains a bronzer & tingle) and I've heard good things about it. I used their Siren last summer with great results. Siren is like Rock Star in that it has a lot of tingle, but it also has a cooling bronzer built in to kinda balance out the tingle feeling, which is good if you don't particularly care for it. I love the sensation, but I just like the lotion a lot (it's nice to have the cooling feeling on hot Georgia days!) Mango Flambe by John Abate is the best high-tingle lotion out there I think. All John Abate products are top-quality. A little expensive, but well worth it. You can find them on discount lotion sites & eBay for cheaper.

Not sure how experienced a tanner you are based on your question. I can tell you've at least tanned for several months, but not sure about any longer than that or not? If you have only been tanning a few months, I'd start with a cheaper lotion with tingle just to make sure you enjoy the tingle sensation and also that your skin can tolerate it (many can't). A cheaper one is Emerald Bay's Mojo Darkening Sauce. You can usually find Emerald Bay's lotions online on discount tanning lotion sites or eBay for $9.99/bottle. But yet they're great quality. I have tanned primarily using Emerald Bay products the last 2 years and am this year. If you're more experienced and have tried tingle once before, go for the Mango Flambe. It is amazing and I guarantee you'll be on your way to the results you want. It definitely should help you break through your tanning plateau! Hope this helps!

Freedom by designer skin is really good. It's got silicone in it, it leaves your skin feeling soft and it smells good to. Every body tans differently though. You don't really see how dark you are looking at yourself. It sounds crazy, I know, but try getting someone to take a picture of you. You'll see how dark you are.
