In every other "racism" case i hear about, It's always a black person claiming that some white person is a racist. Then the white person has to go through all these hoops to gain the affection of the black community. Why does this happen? Why do we not hear about the "cracker" remarks? Why dont we hear about all the segregational tactics that they use? "black history month"=not racist. "White history month"= must be a month long white supremecist rally. Is this hypocracy or something else?

A racial slur is a racial slur regardless of how "cuddly" it is. Just because cracker is a food doesnt mean that its not as bad as ******. Its a racial slur and shouldnt be used by anyone just like any other slur.

You have a point but your eyes are closed. Not saying it is right but the word "cracker" does not carry the negative history that the N word carries. The N word is a word born out of pure hate. A cracker could be food. So people need to stop looking for justification is using it. And if someone calls you a you know what you should say something about. Racial slurs are never acceptable. In predominatly white schools they rarely teach anything about blacks in history, I know this for a fact because I went to a predominatly white high school. The point of it is so that we dont have so many ignorant kids running around. I am willing to bet any amount of money that if there was no black history month blacks in history would not be taught in schools unless it was something negative. I do agree that there shouldnt be a black history month, though. I believe that black history should be taught all year round but as I already said it not, so its neccesary. And its really not that big of an honor black history month is the shortest ******* month of the year.

my answer is simple. First, the history of racism toward African Americans is long, violent, cruel, and very recent. so some people are sensitive. Second, race is a human invention.
It is not Hippocratic to have a black history month and not a white history month. "white" people come from all over the globe and have very different cultures and speak many languages. so a white history month would make little sense. Black history month applies to African Americans and recognizing the struggle for freedom and equal rights.
look at black history month similarly to St. Patrick's day for the Irish or the Highland games for the Scottish. It is a celebration of culture and not race.

Yes there is a black history month! But be happy to know that we got the shortest, coldest month of the year! That was soooo wrong. They know we like to barbecue!
This must be your first time on Y A!
Tim Hardaway had to go through hoops to get the attention of the Gay Community, after what he said, so did Isaiah Washington.
Don't believe the hype!

I believe all men were created equal, and treat them as so.
I told you that so you would understand this story I'm gonna tell you,
was around 11 in school there was 3 other little girls singing out on the playground they were really good I just wanted to listen to them . so I went over. ( I love music) I honestly didn't see color or not I seen 3 little school mates. they turned and said to me" what are you looking at cracker" and a string of other harsh statements. I said I just like your singing, they then chased me to the back of the play ground whipped me with a jump rope cursing and calling me white turkey white cracker etc.
even thou I know not all are like that and they may have been tired of racial remarks, it did make me aware that day that there was a skin color issue, even tho it was not with me.
so I believe it's a two way street.

I know I know, White people have it so hard. How dare other races of people demand equal rights and respect. Who do they think they are? I mean so what if we live in a country founded on WASPs values and traditions and everything outside of that is viewed as "wrong." Look at the history of this country and maybe then you can attempt to see why things are the way they are, on both sides. The reality is, this country was founded on racist and immoral principles so now in 2007, you are upset because people are speaking out against it. Not fair? Hypocrisy? Now you know what it feels like to be non-White living in Amerikka. Doesn't feel so good does it?
FYI, a good starting point for an engaging, critically thinking discussion is not to start out with broad generalizations about an entire group of people. You don't know the entire Black community, therefore, you can't speak about how they feel.
For the record, racism is WRONG period, no matter who the person is, wrong is wrong. But reality is, racism with discrimination can't be committed by a non White person. Confused? Who invented racism? Do your own research but from your post, I don't think you really care to learn any of that. You just want to gripe without actually taking the time to see why things are the way they are. Enjoy the gripe session, hope it served your well! Meanwhile, the rest of us are out here making change and trying to uplift humanity as a whole, not just one group of people.

the whites are not worst that blacks. that s a new marxist political correctness bullish. there are good and bad people in all races. that s a falsification and a lie. whites where also enslaved if you know a bit history. also majority of crimes and vandalism are not made by white people. white people are a civilization factor in the world.
