You can get a plastic cap holder that you put the cap in and throw it in your washer. It helps keep its shape so it doesn't shrink. Keep the cap in the holder until it dries. My caps used to shrink ( unless I wore them wet) until I found this. I got it from the Carol Wright catalog, but I think some stores are selling them now, just not sure which ones.

Wash the cap in the top rack of the dishwasher you can put lots of them in togather it really works. Turn off the hot dry on the dishwasher and just air dry the caps on the rack. You can take the rack out of the dishwasher and sit it on the counter, or sit it out side. or hang them on the line outside by the back of the cap. Watch out for the birds.

There is a store called Lids (at most airports) They have a plastic piece that attaches to the bill of a cap. This keeps it looking sharp even when you run it through the wash.

I wash ours by hand: First a soak in OxyClean, then scrub with laundry detergent or Dawn dish soap and a scrub brush. Rinse enough to get out all the soap. I let them air dry, but I live in a dry climate so it only takes over night. You can dry them in a dryer but highly suggest a cap form......like a cage for your hat that keeps it from shrinking and retains the form...you can get them at sporting goods stores...sometimes. Don't use high heat in the dryer....delicate.

If it's a fitted, then you shouldn't. You should take it to a dry cleaner. if it's a regular hat, either toss it in the wash on low speed or wash it by hand. Here's a better way, wear it when you take a shower. LOL

throw it in the wash but leave the lid open so that it does not go into the spin cycle.... take it out and rinse it in a bucket of warm water or in the sink and then stuff a towel in it and shape it.... leave it out to dry

For some strange reason, I think you're supposed to put it in a pillowcase + then put it in the washing machine. I don't know why though.

just throw it in the washer and to dry just stick it on top of a coffee can, alot easier and cheaper than buying one of those racks.
