I normally use hot tea with lemon and honey, but I am still very hoarse, no other symptons than my usual spring allergies, I am just wanting to know if there are any other home remedies out there so I can try them and see if they work better. BTW, I have already seen my doctor, there's no infection or other problem, my vocal chords just tend to swell if I have recently done alot of yelling.

OK two add ons... 1st I did't mean I yell all the time, I meant I yelled for like 5 or more minutes at one time, I try not to yell very often, because of this reason. And number 2 I saw a doctor I do not have anyform of infection, and 3 thanks so far to all who suggested salt water, this took out the soreness and some swelling!

Gargling with warm salt water is good. Another way to help is to squeeze a lime in warm water with 4 teaspoons of honey and 1/4 teaspoon of salt then sip it. Also boil some milk to drink mixed with a pinch of pepper powder. Apply alternating cold and hot compresses to your throat. Gargle with 1 cup warm water and 1 cup apple cider vinegar. One teaspoon of coarsely powdered cinnamon, boiled in a glass of water with a pinch of pepper powder, and two teaspoons of honey can be taken as a medicine. Two or three drops of cinnamon oil, mixed with a teaspoon of honey, also give immense relief. Mix equal parts of hydrogen perioxide and warm water and gargle. Eat some hot soup. Mix half a pack of jello with hot water and drink. I know more so if you want more email me at peanutdurof@yahoo.com

Try gargling with hot salt water. Also if you can get some Halls cough or throat lozenges; those really help.
