I am turning 21 in a one week and my husband is taking me out for my birthday to have some fun! I wanted to try something new, so I was thinking about getting some fake eyelashes. Can I buy them just anywhere (drug store/walmart/ect.) or do I have to get them from somewhere special? How do they feel on....is it weird? And is it difficult to put them on?

I shouldn't even have to comment on this...but since it seems to be an ISSUE, my husband and I dated since I was 16 years old, we got married when I was 20. Yes I love him, and I'm a HAPPILY MARRIED WOMAN!!

You can get fake eyelashes pretty much anywhere they sell makeup, beauty supplies, etc. There's two kinds: individual lashes (small clumps you can apply in sections of your lash line) or a full lashline set (which will probably be easier). You can also either buy ones that are pre-glued or you can buy the glue separately. Normally the glue is waterbased, so to get the lashes off you'd only need to use water. They don't feel THAT weird but if you do it right, they'll look awesome! Also, you can trim them so they look more natural if all you're trying to do is get volume instead of lengthening your lashes. As for how difficult it is to put them on...all I can tell you is to PRACTICE! Practice putting them on and it'll get easier. Don't wait til that night. Here's a video that pretty much explains it all and shows you step by step how to put them on and take them off. http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-use-and-apply-fake-eyelashes

I used to use them all the time when I was.. well, 21!

I hadn't used them for a long time but did so about three years ago and they are still the same. You can get them anywhere - check Walmart or Longs, Rite Aid, Walgreens. Read the packages and pick ones that you like. Don't buy ones that are super long or they will look like Halloween style. They will definitely feel weird at first, especially if you put too much glue all over them.

You MUST experiment with them first, so you'll know how to do it, and how they feel while you're wearing them. I felt they were pretty difficult to put on at first, but after you've tried a few times, you can get pretty good at it. I literally used them every day for several years and it became as easy as applying eyeliner.

I used to use two kinds: one was a strip of lashes that you apply with a rubbery glue to the edge of your eyelid. The other was a tray of individual lashes that you glue directly onto your own individual lashes with an expoxy like glue. This last type is very difficult to put on if you've never done it, but they look absolutely natural and last a few days. The strip type are a one day at a time thing.

For the strip type, apply them BEFORE eye make-up. You will need to cut each strip to about 1/8-1/4 of an inch shorter than the length of your eyelid. The strip should NOT touch the very tip of your eyelid next to your nose, and it also should not extend all the way out to the outer corner of your eye, to allow for eye movement on both ends. You can hold them up to your eyes and check for the right length. They are made really long to fit anyone's eyes.

Squeeze some of the glue out onto a piece of toilet paper or paper towel. Then use a toothpick to spread a string of glue along the strip. Hold the strip with both both hands (thumbs and forefingers), and set it at the base of your own lashes. Now grab a CLEAN toothpick with one hand, and while guiding the strip with your other hand, use the toothpick to gently press the strip onto your skin at the base of your eyelash. You need to press in one area, then right next to it, and on and on, as if you were pressing dots onto the strip. I mean to say that you will sort of gently poke the strip with the toothpick all down the length of the strip. Try to avoid blinking or blink very gently until the glue dries.

This glue gets rubbery and will dry in about 2-3 minutes, so if you mess up, take the strip off, let it dry, peel the glue off and start over.

Do the same procedure on the other eye. Then you can apply eye makeup. I used to apply shadow, eyeliner and even mascara onto them. At the end of your gala evening, gently pull up the end of the strip at the outer part of your eye, and just peel the lash strip off your eyelid. It will not hurt.

Then place the strip back onto the plastic tray that is formed to hold it. I would use mine again and again. Nevertheless, they are pretty inexpensive so I would buy two boxes. You might ruin one and then you have the other one ready.

I hope you're able to do this - I loved wearing mine and few people even knew they were fake. I hope you have a fantastic and fun birthday!

My niece is 11 and wears them in her dance competitions. I wore them a couple of times for halloween. They do feel weird but look pretty cool. Yes, you can buy them pretty much anywhere. I would suggest though finding the special glue just for those. If you don't have glue they won't stick right with the tape stuff that is attached in the package with them. Use a tooth pick to put the glue on then apply the eye lash. I have to have someone else do it for me though because I can't stand getting that close to my eye! LOL Have fun with it! HAPPY B-DAY

My opinion is you use lots of good mascara because you'll look wierd if your "eyelashes" fall off =P

they do have them at target,
i would get the one that have four eyelashes, you can put 2 to 3 of them on each eye to make them look natural, make sure you buy the glue for them also,
put some glue on a piece of paper , hold the eyelashes by using a tweezer and dip the edge in the glue, put it on or next to your eyelashes untill the glue is dryed i think you can repeat the steps for more lashes.
i hope this helps
happy birthday

You can buy strips of false eyelashes @ drugstores, etc. Ardell is a popular brand. It's best to trim them into small sections of 2 or 3 lashes & strategically place them along your lash line for a dramatic but not outrageous look.

it relies upon on the occassion. pretend eye lashes can tend to look slightly too dressy from daily circumstances and u could desire to be careful with the aid of fact the glue u use to persist with them delivers u rashes if u persist with them in many circumstances. Get a goood quantity boosting mascara Maybelline has solid high quality ones. i think of genuine eyelashes seem (for sure) extra organic and you dont could desire to rigidity that they are gonna harm u or one in all them is gonna drop off while ur at a party or somethin.

I would get nice one from a department store..... just cuz the cheap ones will not look like they could be real. Maybe there is a salon around you that will be able to put them on for you. Shu Uemera is great
