For getting the most wear out of your bras, hand wash them. If that's too much trouble, here's the next best thing:
1) Snap bra closed & fold neatly.
2) Place in a mesh lingerie bag.
3) Wash in warm or cold water on gentle cycle.
4) Hang to dry.
5) Never use chlorine bleach.
Here's how to check your bra size: http://www.brasizeinfo.com/measurebrasize.htm
Once you find a style you like, stock up on it. It's a good idea to have 7-10 bras so you can change often and have clean ones on hand as you let the others air dry after laundering.
Here's a link to an online store that has good deals on name brand bras: http://onehanesplace.com/

Seriously, just go to victoria's secret, GET MEASURED (that's what the workers are there for), and INVEST in a good bra. A high quality, perfectly fitted bra will not only be comfortable, but it will last a very long time. Just like a perfectly fitted swimsuit. Cheap bra's have uncomfortable wires, itchy, cheap fabric, and offer less than desirable support. Take it from me...spend the the extra money and get a good one!!
Since you are short on cash I suggest getting the Victoria's Secret 100-way Strapless Convertible Bra.
From the website : "Hook straps into any eyelet for all 100 ways to wear it. Comes with three sets of straps: regular, halter and a low-back converter strap to wear beneath backless styles. Wear it as a plunge, one-shoulder, racerback, cross-back, boatneck, criss-cross front, halter - it's convertibility for total versatility"

How long a period are you wearing them before they wear out? Months of use? I mean clothes do wear out don't they - it just happens, all the fun of going out and buying more.
I guess these guys above are right though, you get what you pay for, buy it cheap it isn't going to last too long.

Ok, Victorias Secret. Expensive, yes. Great, yes. The workers can give you an exact fit, and let you know what ones will work for you. I suggest Body by Victoria

My wife has both Target and Victoria's Secret and they work great for her. Just like everyone else get measured and find one that you like. Don't go cheap. They don't last.
