Get like a blank journal book and either hand write the quotes onto each page or type them and glue them on each page with either pictures of you and your friend, or draw something that would do with each quote. You could also get some of him/her other friends to each write something on the other blank pages and include yourself, I did this when I was in high school and just came acrossed it the other day and I had a nice flash of the past it was nice!

All great ideas,
You can also buy a new paint can (from the hardware store - they come in small and large sizes), decorate it and print the quotes out on pretty paper like vellum or another nice parchment, cut them out and put them in the can.
Or, you could get a composition book and decorate it and put them inside and add a pen so they can add more quotes they find.
Or, you could make a paperbag book or mini book and decorate a page for each quote.
Sooo many fun ideas. There are directions to the gift can and the journal at the site below.
Have fun and happy crafting!

You could decoupage them onto the cover of a photo album, wooden keepsake box, or diary. Just go to Wal-mart or Micheals and ask them for some decoupage. Brush it on and stick the quotes on. When dry, go over the whole thing with the decoupage.
Or you could buy a big magnet page and glue the quotes to the magnet. Paint over it with a decoupage. Let dry and put a pretty bow on it. Michaels and Wal-mart sell large magnet pages that are 8X10 and you can cut it smaller with just a pair of scissors. Your friend can put this on the fridge or even a metal filing cabinet.
You could stick little tiny silk flowers on it or even simple buttons or bows.
You can also embellish with a bottle of fabric paint. Write names, draw, or just make a nice border.
You can even copy photographs of you and your friend and decoupage that along with the quotes.
Go to a craft store and look up and down the aisles for ideas if this doesn't work for you. Have fun. And remember; you cannot mess up a piece of art. That's why it's called Art.
My favorite quote; whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you're right ! Henry Ford

Sounds to me like it's a great idea to get her something. It doesn't have to be anything big. If it were me, I would for sure buy her something to show that you are thinking about her and wishing her well. Most importantly, i would get a card and write a very heart-felt message inside. I think, especially as a new mother, she will greatly appreciate this. Generosity and caring are never lost and will always come back to you when you least expect it.

cut sugar cookie dough or pie crust dough ( store bought ) into small circles and fold them like a fortune cookie BUT before baking, you can write on parcment paper a quote....and then decorate with gel frosting and sprinkles along the edge of the cookie. Any sort of paper would work really cause you don't use a high heat to bake the cookies....just the rim of a glass would make a good circle size or bigger if you wanted ?
Good luck !

If you can get a calligraphy marker or pen, you could write some quotes for your friend on some really nice paper. If you can paint, you can do some illustrations on the side of the paper and around the calligraphy. Flowers, rainbows or something about the quote.

Print the quotes out on your printer in reverse. Purchase a reasonably large wooden box ( available at Ikea for next to nothing) and wood burn the quotes on the box. It is simple to do ( boy scouts do it) and the wood burning tool is available at any craft store. Oops, I forgot to tell you to iron on the box the design that you printed out on your ink jet printer. Finish it with a spray acrylic finish. She will love this treasure you made for her.

My favorite is a mini collage, using combinations of photos of the person or those meaningful to him or her and pictures and words cut out of magazines, with quotes printed in funky fonts to match their mood interspersed. They can be very easy to make and come out amazingly wel. Don't be afraid to cut figures out of photos--I love to take pictures of people with boring backgrounds, cut them out of the background and then layer butterfly or angel wings behind them. Put them on all four sides of a box for a unique treasure chest, or use one of those divided up frames abd put small scenes in each space. I make miniature collages in three dimensions by using foam squares to layer the pieces, putting them in old printer's drawers. It is easy and a lot of fun, and such a personal handmade gift is always appreciated.
